I think this is a great forum, it has almost any topic you could want to talk about. The mods are patient, don't bother anyone, and are very helpful. Last few days when I would come on here; I would see the thread; you were unhappy with the forum and thought the opposite would be a better thread to have, more positive and helpful. Too many reasons to be unhappy in this world today, better to be happy if you can.
I have been on a few forums in the past, and this one is the best I have seen. I like forums, as you get to know people and form cyber friendships over time. It is the closest I come to social media.
I only recently joined but it's looking good so far. As with most of these forums, there seem to be a small number of regular posters and a large number of observers. I know someone who joined a number of forums at the same time, but gradually left some and narrowed it down to just two. He said it was because there were too many people who wanted to argue for the sake of it.
Ken has an excellent forum here, but has to calm some folks down that reply to certain threads. The old statement, "agree to disagree", but for some, that's hard to do.
Don't sweat it Cody, your doing much better lately, just kidding with ya. Nothing wrong with heated debates now and then.
Aye, I do. Regardless what time I visit there's always alerts with funky words exchanged. I'm someone that researches the internet for all kind of information. So, if I'm reading here that someone wishes for a particular recipe, a funny nostalgic video from YouTube or info about a favourite singer or actor, I'll find it and post it. It makes me happy to help people and hopefully it's appreciated...
True; this forum just sort of seems, to almost take care of itself. I've only seen a few disagreements; that were resolved pretty quickly, as they agreed to disagree, it seemed, and a couple of ones, the mods fixed.
The other senior forum is ruled with an iron fist as if it was a kindergarten forum. This one isn't. We're all adults after all.
I agree about the large number of observers. Some forums have groups, that don't let others into their group, and to me that hurts the forum and keeps it from being what it could be. IMO It's difficult for some to know the difference between debating and arguing; I'm not a good debater, so I try not to get one going, and try to stay away from others doing it, especially if it's a heated one between them .
All social gatherings have cliques in one form or the other, so I just accept it as fact. I'm a free agent and don't much care what others think unless it hurts somebody. I do try not to offend but that is impossible with all of us having differing beliefs. Then again that makes it interesting.
