    It is hard for some, and who knows why they're like that. Kind of like a saying I heard once; you never know, sometimes, what a person has going on in their life; unless they tell you.

    I've only been online about20 years and had never touched a keypad, { I lost use of my index finger as a toddler, so teachers used that as an excuse not to teach me typing.}
    My first time on a forum wasn't positive. I was told to get a " speak and spell ", and by the time I hunted and pecked out the letters they were on another page or subject. Court Tv was mt first forum, then DiscussAnything. I had fun laughing at them and myself.
    The first one lack of skills drove nuts was the woamn on CourtTV who trained the ape Coco Koko, forgot.

    She was a real tickler, and we always had heated debates, but ended up accepting each other,

    All are welcoming till they get to know you, then it gets real. Some really like you and some really don't.

    Agree; all adults, are right, Ed; have you been fishing lately? You haven't put any photos up on my fishing thread, in a while.

    Well, getting me, back to the topic of this thread; I've noticed some who have been members here as early as 2017, and after, they come on here, but very seldom and post. They've been a member a long time and I'm not sure why they weren't very active in posting, but they're still here, so that's good. A lot of new members, post a little and then just go away; not so sure why. A few places on the forum state for us to voice our opinions and join in topics; it wasn't worded exactly like that, but it was to encourage people to post and I think that's good if older members and new members join in. Would be good for the forum, IMO.:)

    Seven years next month I have been on this forum.Over the years I tried to join others,and lasted barley a day.
    I have learned many things on here from others, literally. There so many caring, informative, funny folks on here and most of us get along real well. We do not always agree- thank goodness, how boring would that be? Some of us have poured our heart and soul into posts of various kinds. Telling the forum things,we dare not say on any other social site, or even close friends. We are anonymous to most , except those we tell our real names to.
    The Forum has been a life saver since giving up our happy place in Texas to move to the BFE place in Kansas.
    Like many on here ,I have those I have connected to on a more personal level,but enjoy all the members.
    I always have referred to the Forum as my Online Friends, but now finding it more like my On line Family.
    Good, or bad, right or wrong, mean or sweet, I love you all and t appreciate the years of guiding me through so many things.
    :)

    I enjoy meeting new posters, but when all is said and done I prefer the relatively small size of SOC. I participate in larger forums and there is not the sense of family that I found here. There is a certain comfort in knowing people, even if it's just on a computer screen.

    "Nice post", Hedi, seven years is quite a while, which also proves what a great site it is. Most here are very helpful, and I've learned a lot from everyone here. At 8,747 posts, you've been quite active in helping others, I've had some come and comment on my threads, that have been here like you for years but have only 5 or 6 hundred posts. :confused: One came on and posted, and said that they don't post very often, but they just had to say something on that thread. :D It's good to see the veteran's post, after being a member for so long. :)

    Meeting new posters is nice, especially after they prove themselves; to not be troublemakers. I've seen one who came on and started, attacking everyone, until Ken had enough. :rolleyes: He's a pretty patient person, from what I've seen and so is Yvonne, admin, and John. This is only about the third site, I've been a member of, and still learning stuff about them.

    I remember the heated debates, that y'all had until things worked out, and you met another friend from there too. That's way before I ever thought of getting online.
