Yum, that looks delicious, @Babs Hunt. I need to make a chicken pot pie soon, they're one of my favorite.

The past two nights, I've had breakfast for supper. I made extra pancakes last night, and still have some sausages, so I just need to decide how I want to cook my eggs for tonight's dinner.

I love pancakes for supper...even without the sausage or eggs. :)

That chicken pot pie sre looks good. I made a meatloaf, surrounded it with yellow squash and there was some leftover salad. We finished the salad but still have meatloaf and squash for another meal or two.
We also had some strawberrys and cookies with Reddi Whip.

I just sat here watching my husband eat two whole plates of barbecued ribs that our neighbor sent over! :D He didn't even bother to eat any sides with these ribs. I guess you just don't have to have sides with some things.

Ugh, I might have to avoid this thread for a while. I'm on my version of the BRAT (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) diet for a bit, while my stomach recuperates. What's healthy for others really seems to do me in, and my recent healthier eating sent my IBS into overdrive, so I'll be eating bland for a while. On the plus side, Goldfish crackers and Yoplait yogurt were on sale at Kroger. Eat something yummy for me!

I have IBS and GERD too @Diane Lane so I understand what you mean. I guess I have my own version of the BRAT diet that soothes my stomach and digestive system. I've lived with these things for so long that I pretty much know by heart what is going to give me an "attack" but every once in a while I just have to give in to the craving and suffer the consequences. I have also learned to adapt the recipes of a lot of my favorite foods that I can't eat anymore so that the new recipe tastes really close to the original and will satisfy my taste buds.

It seems at least half of the people I know have at least one, if not both, these days. I wonder how much of that relates to changed ingredients of food. I actually had my first 'real' supper tonight. It was a sweet and sour chicken TV dinner, just one of the small ones. My stomach is like a boiling cauldron right now, it was a bit spicy, but nothing too outrageous. I'm still going to stick with the blandish diet for the weekend, and hopefully by next week, I can try adding something back in and see how it goes.

@Babs Hunt , @Diane Lane , I hope you get over your tummy troubles. I don't reckon anything bothers us. We eat all kinds of food, much of it with lots of herbs and spices. I've read that hot peppers are very good for digestion, It may be true, I eat a lot of them.
For supper my wife made pork chops with Spanish rice,

Thank you @Sheldon Scott My husband has one of those "iron stomachs" too. Even though living with these things can be unpleasant at times, I have learned to "adapt, improvise, and overcome" most of the time. When it isn't possible to "overcome" I just let my digestive system have a "vacation" so it can "relax and destress". ;)

I had a large fast food lunch. I know, I was a bad senior. Anyway, I just had a small supper. I had cheese and crackers. Tomorrow, I will go back to eating healthily. I lost 4 pounds this week, so I decided to reward myself. Of course, I need to learn to reward myself with something other than food!

Last night, I had Goldfish Crackers for supper. I had planned to have something a little more substantial later, but that didn't happen, because I fell asleep around 8 p.m. I forgot I had to stay upright after taking the antibiotics, and laid down, which resulted in a horrible stomach ache, hence the crackers to settle it.

I've got a package of chicken thighs in the freezer that's calling my name. I hope I can defrost and cook them soon, because I'm craving some real food.

Thanks, @Sheldon Scott I would love to be able to eat whatever I wanted, especially some of the more 'healthy' foods that irritate my stomach and/or cause inflammation throughout the body.
