With Mitch McConnell stepping down as Minority leader in the Senate, many Republicans in the Senate are bringing Rand Paul to the forefront to be the next Minority--hopefully Majority--Leader to succeed Mitch. Man would that be a change in leadership!

I like ….. really, really LIKE Rand Paul !
I would actually think that he might even be a good choice for VP to President Trump. I know that in 2015, when Trump was first running, Rand Paul was very rude and unfriendly, but I think that he got past that once he saw that Trump was actually sincere and turned out to be such a great president, and I think that Trump would support Rand as Minority Leader in place of Mitch McConnell .

As far a choosing a VP, I am sure that Trump already has someone in mind, someone who will care about the American people and will carry on the MAGA plan to rebuild America back into the nation that it formerly was.
I am not sure if Rand Paul is that man, but I am not sure who else Trump might have in mind, either; but I am sure he has that planned out because he knows he has to leave America in good hands when he is gone.

Rand Paul has undoubtedly made mistakes (or held wrong positions) during his career, beginning with his endorsing Mitt Romney over his own father in 2012. I wouldn't hold the 2016 campaign against him, though, because he was running against Trump. Ramaswamy is the only one I've seen who has managed to campaign against someone while being supportive at the same time.

In 2012, I expect he knew that his father wasn't going to win, and he was more concerned with committee assignments and other opportunities for his own career that might have been denied him if he didn't back the establishment choice. I thought it showed a lack of character, and I am still inclined not to like him very much. In the end, we can be sure that his political career will be paramount.

That has got to be the strangest campaign that ever was, for sure !
It was like Ramaswamy was campaigning for Trump and was being kind of a stand-in , in some ways, like taking his place at the republican primary debates.
He basically campaigned on a complete Trump platform, as well as always saying how much he supported Trump, but was there in case they took Trump out of the running somehow.

He is a good speaker, and I do think that Vivek’s heart is in the right place and he wants the best for America; but I am not sure that he could take over the presidency if something happened to Trump and Vivek was the VP.
Trump has had a lot of years dealing with all kinds of people, and is amazing at knowing when to stand his ground, and when to negotiate. .

I'll take good intent over what the rest of the field offers any day of the week. And with McConnell gone, I think the (R) power struggles (that never should have existed) will be gone, too.

I'm thinking also of Devin Nunes, who I believe stepped away from politics to help Trump run Truth Social. He might be an interesting and viable Vice President.

Rand Paul said that he has had a lot of people asking him about being the Minority Leader in the Senate, and it sounds like he is interested in doing that, if asked.
I am hoping that they choose Rand Paul.

John Cornyn from Texas is also running, but I would much prefer Paul. Cornyn is referred to by some as the "liberal Senator from Texas".

I'd prefer Cornyn. I had some dealings with him regarding the passage of the Lymphedema Treatment Act and I admire him very much.

If past experiences hold, a liberal Republican will always be chosen over a conservative Republican.
