I've been wondering how you're doing, Thomas. That's great news!

I think many of us have taken meds that have concerning side effects (I just stopped taking an antibiotic that had concerning downsides after having been on it for a year), but it's an informed decision. I wonder if your doctor might play around with the dosage since you improved so quickly.

Could not find proper thread to put this, and yet the title of this one is pretty much on target.
I have not been 'up to snuff lately as my grandparents would say. My body pain, muscle spams , tingling of fingers -on occasion, and chronic back pain seems much worse. The last 3 days have been hard to function.
I have several things going on that probably should be seen to, but the above ones affect me the most.
Back in January I went to a heart doctor about 30 miles from here. He wrote order for 6 different blood tests, another echo gram, and a chemical stress test. I have been putting it off for a few good reasons, but have decided it all needs to be done. I was healthier than most of my doctors patients in Texas, and so no extra tests have been done of the above nature in about 5 years at least. I decided this doctor can also treat me better provided he has current information.
So tomorrow I will go to the clinic for the blood work, and on 3/29 will go the hospital in Meade to have echo and chemical stress test done. The pain and spams I cant hack any more with otc meds. I am hoping they do not find anything serious, and can help me with the pain and muscle issues.

I think that getting lab work and heart tests are always a good thing, @Hedi Mitchell , and I am glad that you are going to get this taken care of. Hoping that you get good results back, too !!

I am always checking on my patient portal to see what the results of my lab work shows, and comparing it to the ones previously, so I can see what is getting better and what might not be.

I hop that you can find better doctors out there ! We are so fortunate to live here in Huntsville where they have really great doctors and hospitals. You might want to come and live here…..

Hi, I have been taking supplements for at least 40 yrs....no sudden body pain, pain in my life is from body damaged by hip replacement and early onset of arthritis in my life....

If I were you I'd make SURE magnesium, potassium and Vit D were up to SNUFF. Many are deficient in these. You can do a search for sudden body pain and each of the above. That is what I would do. Docs are worthless sometimes, depends on docs we choose.. And make sure Thyroid is optimal.....

That is one of the bad things about living in a small town way away from larger towns. I had the same situation when I lived in north Idaho, and the nearest large town was Spokane , Washington. Even though I would prefer to still live in a small town, it has probably saved my life because of living here in Huntsville.
Amazingly, it is also a fairly cheap place to live, even compared to where I lived in north Idaho. When I compare prices with my son who lives in Eastern Washington, things cost a lot more for him, and even housing prices are higher.

I have found that eating raw pineapple can often help body pain.
It is a potent anti-inflammatory food, and also has a natural pain medication.
If I have those days when everything hurts, I do what I call a pineapple fast, and just have raw pineapple and water (and coffee, of course) until I start feeling better.
I do not know if it would help you or not, but it is a healthy food and can’t hurt to try.

    Sending hugs and prayers !

Will not see a doctor until labs come back. Depends on the outcome as to who and where. Should get results today except for the CRP test she said takes serial days.

Yes Joy , the lack of potassium and magnesium are my concerns. In Jan the new heart doctor asked me why I was not on either of them...IDK was my answer.

I wonder why the CRP is so delayed? There are two CRP tests. Do you know which you are getting? CRP and hs-CRP are the two tests and they are for different purposes. It is possible that your local clinic doesn't do one of them.

Could your medicine be making you low on potassium? My husband has to take potassium pills because his blood pressure medicine is sucking it all out of him. He eats plenty of potassium foods and it is still low. He takes Indapamide blood pressure pills. So far that is the only BP med he can tolerate. Now his doctor wants to check his magnesium too.

    Hope you feel better soon.

@Don Alaska -lolo I am surprised they can do blood tests at all here. I know so tacky of me. But it just said CRP off to the side of order

Can’t you just buy supplements and take them yourself ?

I think potassium supplements OTC are hard to find in sufficient strength to do any good. That why I usually recommend food--i.e. bananas--as a supplement and cheaper as well. All the others are easily purchased. I guess K supplements are a bit dangerous to have strong supplements not supervised.
