The real problem with stuff like this is that the awards panels have been infiltrated by those whose sole intent is to undermine the institutions. Awards are intentionally handed out to those who have no business being in that arena. So the award is no longer a symbol of accomplishment, it's just a "thing" that's handed out to an undeserving person with no real basis for doing so. In this way, its value is forever tarnished for future recipients who are genuinely deserving.
I didn't do it, but my wife Line Danced to this song back in 2000. Song was released in 1988 and was a total hit for the singer.
I started to put up the video of them doing the line dance to this song. Good your wife likes to dance. Not sure you'd call it dancing ,but I still like to move to the beat of music.
Actually, "liked", since she doesn't do it anymore. Don't think the music of today calls for any of the type of country dancing that was done in 2000.
Well, some living rooms aren't quite big enough to Line Dance in. Besides that, she likes to have the company of other ladies on the dance floor when she did it. And, on top of that, her legs don't move as good as they use to and she has forgotten many of the steps. Whenever we go to a country-western nightclub, sometimes with a restaurant, we will just sit at our table and enjoy the music. The younger generation loves dancing "rock" today instead of the 2-Step, 10-Step and Cotton-Eyed Joe. We always do, but many don't even dress western to go to a country-western nightclub anymore. IOW, our dancing days are pretty much over. Actually, not "pretty much", the word should be "definitely" over.
LOL, I know what your saying, mine too, but I emphasize and do lots of pretending I'm dancing but I do move around a lot to music. Cody most days I make myself move sometimes almost cry not wanting to, but I feel bad if I don't.
Well, colorful (sarcasm) country singer Jelly Roll is becoming more and more popular, no matter how he looks. He was a mentor to some contestants on American Idol. The Producers must have been both high and drunk to have him on. He's definitely not a good influence for any young singer. And, the he was on the Finale of The Voice. His wife loves being on camera and looks like she is part of some "Housewives" show. There was some complaints about Jelly Roll's weight and she came unglued about it, say the "F" bomb numerous times. As for us, we will just stay with country singers like: Martina McBride, Mary Chapin Carpenter, The Judds, Terry Clark, Diamond Rio, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Chris Le Doux and others from back then. Yes, this music tells how old we are, but to us, it's real country music, with nice/descent "down to earth" singers singing.
