I wouldn't unlock my door and open at all Joy. That's just me though, I do have a peep-hole so that's an advantage. Many homeless are out there because they won't go into a shelter that has rules they don't want to follow. Some are just out there as "there was no room at the inn" so to speak. And yes, many are so sick from drugs, even if they want to clean up, there are not many places they will be taken in except maybe larger cities. We have one clinic just for psychiatry, and Behavioral "something or other" for those seeking mental help. Our Oregon VA is so helpful to Veterans, all they can do at least, but they really need the government to help them more Small towns like this one don't have anything for Veterans. Our onsite management guy has to be called out to run people off this property. They come begging for rides, cigarettes, and try to get into the building. It's mostly secure with Dave here, he's a veteran and so glad he has a place to work and live. He's tough too but has a good heart and loves his dog, LOL!! Any guy that loves dogs is ok with me
My daughter sent me how much she deals with re: homeless.... If someone wants to hear her story I'll post otherwise I won't. God if there good things going on!!!! The SUN is beautifuol today.
I have nothing more to say about Old Joe and didn't know where to put the homeless sheetttt.....many of the new homeless are coming in under his "watch"....
She came home and found 2 squatters living in her home and they attacked her beat her to death, then stuffed her in a bag. We can't be too careful now, society is really lost it.
Not sure if this is local or not, seldom get names of states now, guess they think we know where all cities are. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=8f72...kLXdvbWFuLWF0LWtpcHMtYmF5LWFwYXJ0bWVudA&ntb=1
I don't mean local to you or me, I mean did it make the news in the area where it happened, or is the media putting a blackout on the homicidal acts of illegals?
I did a quick google [squatters who killed woman identified] and found nothing. We have a Castle law here, it could be bad for their health to squat in some homes. https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=cb0b...vbS9ibG9nL2IvY2FzdGxlLWRvY3RyaW5lLWxhdw&ntb=1
People are getting tired of invaders taking over, they may get legally stopped real fast. Although they can still move in next door to you, substantially lowering your property values.
From Twitter: TikToker is going viral by telling illegal immigrants how to "invade" homes in America thanks to progressive squatting laws Remarkable. "We can invade a house in the USA, what do you think about this new law?" a video from one TikTok user read. The man said he has African friends who have successfully taken over 7 homes thanks to squatting laws. "My African friends have told me that they have already taken about 7 homes." Link to video
I saw a news clip yesterday about Florida’s new squatter’s law. All a homeowner need do is to present an affidavit to the magistrate stating that the home belongs to them and it’s a done deal. The Sheriff’s department shows up immediately and puts the squatters in jail and their stuff on the street. If the squatters have a forged document / lease then they face charges and If there are any damages to the home then the squatters face further charges. The caveat to that is if a homeowner is just using the new law to evict a tenant, then the homeowner gets charged with a felony.
If say, a homeowner goes on an extended trip and comes back to find people in their home, one might use the “castle law” and yes, do whatever it takes. Although, if a homeowner is not physically living in a home but has the home up for sale or rent, then in most states, there isn’t a whole lot that a homeowner can legally do except file the complaint and go through a lengthy eviction process. In the case of the latter, if a homeowner does feel compelled to “shoot” the squatters, he will most likely find himself in prison. All that said, I do like your reasoning.
