I was in the area going to some friend's house. I think I knew about it, but decided it wasn't my kind of thing. Glad I didn't go.
I didn't go to Woodstock, didn't have to Atlanta Ga. had concerts of all the bands. I did go to lots of those in the early to mid 70s.
I liked concerts my cousin Mary and I attended lots of them in Atlanta and surrounding area. I did feel sorry for some of the participants who od and went to nurse's station. I never did drugs; Boones Farm wine was enough for me.
I think I was too broke at the time to travel all the way to Woodstock from San Francisco. That said, music aside, I don't know that I would have had a good time ... no money, no nothin'.
Jenna I'm sorry you didn't get to go to many concerts. Now we have them on YouTube, that's the ones I go to. One of my favorite Y.Tube concerts is below, he is not only talented but also a good family man with character, something missing in most entertainers today. .
Oh, I went to loads of concerts. At the Fillmore and Winterland in San Francisco (put on by the impresario Bill Graham) before he opened the Fillmore East on the east coast. While videos are great (and I do collect them), live is really something.
Alman Brothers had a great concert at Fillmore, or at least they had an album named that. I had the 8 tract.
