I was very familiar with a 'bucket 'well. As if the labor wasn't bad enough, better not get one grain of sand in it or spill any walking back to the house. Also so, don't to be anywhere in the vicinity if points need re- setting.

Nor even a clue. It was one of those, “would you live here” things without mentioning where it was.
With all that firewood though, it’s a cinch that it has seen its share of cold.

Sigh. Looks like fun, and very appealing. Just that I'm pretty much a city/suburban person.

NOT ME ! I have been there, done that, and not ever doing it again, in this lifetime.
Bobby and Shirley can take turns with the dishes, and Marco Poodle and I will go on a Caribbean cruise while all you guys that want to live there are chopping wood and hauling in water from that old well. I used to use my horse to pull the 5-gallon buckets up, and I don’t have a horse anymore, so no thank you on the well water idea, too.
Even dishes are a big chore when you have to haul in a couple of 5 gallon buckets of water, chop wood for the wood cook stove and heat the water, pour it in the washtub and then do the dishes, and I am not even going to mention doing laundry with the old wringer washers……….. nope, not for me.

Yikes. That does sound like a lot of work. I can't even imagine. But then, I'm an old retired gal.

So…I guess that means that beating the laundry on the rocks at the crick is totally out of the question.

You have my heart-felt permission to beat the laundry on the rocks at the creek any time you feel the desire to do that, Sweetheart.
And if you do not want to chop wood to heat up water for your washtub bath, you can bathe in that cold creek , too……. All fine with me.
I am an easy-to-get-along-with kind of wife.

We had a hugh flat rock the creek flowed over, so I stomped mine clean,
One day I was stomping the Lords Last Supper wall rug.
I made up a song, 'Stomp the bread, but don't stomp the wine., Mama said get out of the creek you blasphemous child, at the same time, two large cotton mouth moccasins rose up to my face from under the rock. Mama then said, don't move [which I already knew].
She pulled out her 38 S-W and shot one the other one ran towards her, she got it too.
Mama was Stone Mountains version of Annie Oakly. Triue story, no exasperations.

Who am I really? not sure y'all had me wondering yesterday, kind of scary getting all that attention with 'likes'. Maybe a sign of Aquarius visit. I don't even get that many likes a week, much less within a couple hours. I do appreciate it though just a surprise.
Kind of like a positive, negative charge, my BP went up 197-99- 80:eek: its ok today so y'all be yourself.;)
And you can like me now, its ok the shock is gone. another song, Toby Keith.
