Finally cleared more vines today, felt good to get out. I did notice some huge ones only a pole saw with get. Jake hates to help with those so, we'll see.
I still have lots of fence but those huge ones are very bad for trees.

Got the trail cut out and vines removed form another old tree. Jake helped but he is not used to working with others, so I have two holes and bruises on my forearm from tree limb he snatched off.
He was a lot of help though, some very large vines I couldn't cut with my loppers. Also, he pulled some vines out of tree's and pulled small trees storm fell to a pile to haul to the field.
It is amazing how fast we cut out that trail to the old tree, now we have another pretty path too.

Thank you Jenna, but I think it is a lot to do with desperation too. We're isolated out here in the woods and it will get to you if you don't stay busy. Plus, it is good for my lungs and diabetes.
I do hate ticks, pulled 3 off me a few minutes ago which can be dangerous. They were on my socks I pull up over my pants leg.
    Also I love the woods.

Maybe a small electric chain saw would help?

This pole saw works good too. I used to have a small chain saw but haven't used it in about 10 years, Jake needs to put a chain on it. The pole saw works good too. It is battery.

We took some pictures today of work we did a couple days ago. So many vines, so little time.;)

Camera is old an I can't see to set it on landscape or field.

New trail we cut out to get to oak tree vines.

It's official, I guess I am a tree hugger after all.

Vines I cut off high as I can reach and the bottoms.

I cut the vines as high as I can to reach them later after they die and I pull them out of trees, that is those I can pull.
Foxy and Leo love the woods, but I do worry about snakes, my neighbors hound dogs were always getting bit. What a wonderful life they now have though, compared to being on chain and beat when they barked, it feels good to give them a good life. They moved from hell to paradise.

Today while its cool I hope to get to the Palm looking plant, have to cut the trail to it first. Well maybe, Jake was up too early to use the mower trimmer and help cut the brush, but I may be able to use it, I haven't tried it yet.

    Foxy watching me work,

It's spring and the little killers are back with a vengeance:mad:
Now the new ones are up to 6' tall.
Its like they are pointing to the tree they plan on attacking. Like little viper heads on the top.
I've been too busy with spring cleaning to get back to them. Although today I did cut some off the yard fence and driveway.
We also had some strong winds this week and I picked up tree limbs and brush off trail this morning. A couple I had to lean on golfcart and use my feet and legs to shove them to the side. I have to lean on a tree to look up to make sure ones not about to fall from a tree, otherwise, I'll fall backwards..

I took Molly with me today, Jake said she is too sick, but the way I see it is she too loves the woods and rather die on trail than in the yard.

Not much vine clearing this week, just a about 100' of fence yesterday on the Haiti side which now consist of about 15 campers and all kinds of junk parts, building materials 2 huge metal shipping containers like the ones on that ship that ran into the Fransis Scott Key bridge last month. Broke every zoning law in the book.
I still want to get back to the new trail to the old palm plant, soon as I spray some bug killer on the ticks. What we need is a Bobcat to get to trees being killed, called about rental,$1,200.00 a day, sure ain't gonna happen!!!
