When Trump was elected, the Libs were up in arms against the electoral college. Now flooding the border with illegals, the libs are using it. e When it was instituted, there was a good reason for it. Same with the filibuster. When it is used against them the party gets mad and wants to get rid of it. When they use it, it is OK. I thought about it but not sure we should do away with them hastily.
As for the filibuster, it was originally intended to ensure that all the arguments were presented before a vote was taken. It became a point of stoppage when the Democrats in the Pre-Civil War South found they could use it to stop anti-slavery legislation form passing. It was used extensively by the Democrat party to stop Civil Rights laws from passing until Johnson decided he was losing the fight and decided to allow Civils Rights bills to pass, after which he famously said, "That'll have the ni*****s voting Democrat for 200 years" with a broad smile on his face. While I am not particularly a fan of Ted Cruz, what he said about the Dems not caring about people is generally true. Often they cannot defend their agenda, so they pass things that they are told to support even if they don't necessarily agree with what is happening. It is a sad thing that legislators represent their party leaders and their agenda rather than the people who elected them...but then they get re-elected anyway, so they really don't care. People who are against the Electoral College generally don't understand why it was put into place...except those who support tyranny, which is what democracies always devolve into.
I just vent my frustrations with the whole mess. I also wonder if this is how the world ends, like the Bible says it will. Only thing missing is the nukes the Bible speaks of, from my understanding of course. What else can make your flesh disappear before your skeleton hits the ground? Zechariah 14:12 ► I'm going to park this here to listen to later, otherwise I'll forget which video came with the subject,
Corruption! I keep wondering why Ukraine is such a football. Hillary was for it, BIden is for it, EU... Why. Turns out Blackrock and Fidelity own the factory farms and grain production there.
I don't blame the Poland president; I agree with his not letting Ukraine take Poland's wheat industry basically off the market.
First off, I have no problem with our form of Government and as a matter of fact, I rather believe it’s the best governmental concept ever created by mankind. What grinds my gears are those politicians who have unabashedly decided that the Constitution should be a hall pass for any political agenda that they can turn a personal profit with. They will not acknowledge the fact that the Constitution is a defining guideline for the benefit of all citizens but rather somehow believe that it is a fluid writ whereby the rules can be changed on a whim much the same as some children do whilst playing a game. One other thing I might mention is that Truman’s charge of “the buck stops here” has never been truer than now because there are some greedy politicians who stop every buck that comes their way and pockets it or gives it to someone else on a distant shore and never thinking of what he or she was really hired to do.
I was not aware that Zelenskyy was selling his country out to Western oligarchs. Very interesting. Thanks for posting that @Mary Stetler
That is my biggest problem with Progressive politicians @Bobby Cole. They all take an oath to preserve and protect the Constitution when they have no intention of doing so ...except perhaps in a museum somewhere. Seems like perjury to me, and many politicians do it.
The corruption is unstoppable. They won't release the tapes. They won't release data on covid vaccines...They won't close the border... Trump said the demonstrators had a right to demonstrate peacefully. He requested the National Guard but Pelosi denied them. He said respect the police. Where were they? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/UsIhWGhsRGU
A suggestion came up on one of the shows I watch: Instead of everyone saying “the government this and the Government that”, start calling out the people within the Government who are directly responsible for spying on the American people, giving huge amounts of money to foreign countries, denying the border problem and in general just creating specific unconstitutional agendas, etc. It’s like that old and rather rusty saying: The world doesn’t suck, it’s the people on this world that suck. If folks started to look, and I mean really look at and study those who are supposed to represent us on the State and Federal level and started figuratively yanking them up by the shirt collars and getting them out of office, I think we’d find that the Government will be just fine. Our Government doesn’t suck, it’s just some people within the Government that suck.
New frustration. These are dem protected people. We won't hear about it because they don't follow the agenda. Start around minute 1:50
