Good grief, she scares me! Why would anyone want to hire someone like that, unless they were at home working remotely for the company and no one could see them.

It makes one wonder about the pathology behind the decisions, and about what she sees in the mirror.

Moreover, what is it she SAW in the mirror that caused her to go to such lengths to re-invent herself?

Is it a mystery or is it simply a person’s vane attempts at improving their sexuality or the way they are perceived?
Why do people spend countless hours on their hair or shopping for that 100+ pair of shoes or go in debt for breast or butt implants?
For that matter, why spend years trying to improve muscle structure when the old muscles were working quite well without all the added torture?

Everyone has their own reasons why they / we do what we do to change our appearance and in some cases, it isn’t just for appearance.
Example: One lady I listened to said that whilst she loved her tattoos, she was, to write it gently, sexually gratified by the type of pain the needles made whilst she was being inked. I guess whips and chains just didn’t do it for her.

All that said and to be on topic, there’s employment out there for anyone who wants to work. The lady in question has indeed limited the list but hasn’t totally obliterated it.
Cody mentioned circus in a rather snide manner but to be true, I’ve spent some time on carnival lots and most of the ride jocks have a ton of tats and make darned good money.
She could get employment at biker bars, stock rooms, start her own business or….get a degree and do as Cody’s wife does and work from home or work at a call center or …..and the list goes on and on.

Indeed, wouldn’t it be rather poetic if an order Cody made from Amazon was filled by someone (even the lady in question) who has tats from head to toe?

I wonder if--for some--the extreme tats & piercings are a form of self-mutilation. The past generation or two have generally been "latchkey" kids with little solid foundation being given them---not that all families throughout time have been functional.

I was going to include the young people who are into “cutting” but I didn’t want to open that door because it isn’t a case of “self improvement” or “self gratification” as is the rest of my post.
But, since you DID open that door, here’s an article I had saved up that might be of interest. The article does include piercings and tats which would still be on topic.

The other facet is that you can have piercings on public display, where most folks who self-harm hide the evidence. And people trace piercings and nose rings and lobe enlargements (and tats) back through tribal histories, so they have a sense of belonging to something.

And I disagree with the article's blanket statement that piercing and rings are en masse discounted as "not being" evidence of anything deeper. But Psychology Today once did an article on the high suicide rate of older white males, and they chalked it up to "Loss of privilege." So to me it's more leftist blather than it is true psychology.

Of course, some just like their body art without there being any meaning deeper than that.

All I know fro sure is - people who are body tatted from face and down, apparently do not see what others see when looking in the mirror. Kinda like your Walmart people - they do not see what we see -
