@Yvonne Smith - thank you.. um, I have no need of another forum. If your needs are being met, no need to wander
Sometimes I think that I post too much political stuff. But it is usually because I think it is important to know. I am glad not too much 'screaming' because of it. I am interested in opinions.
Maybe if there was one thread clearly marked as a daily thread for talking about their daily lives. If there is one of those here I've missed it. There are breakfast, lunch and dinner threads (for example) and a thread for just about everything I can think of, but maybe people would like a central thread for chatting about whatever they are doing that day. Just a thought.
Some of us have started threads in the diary section for that, and there are other threads that don't have hard topics.
As Ken said, start a Diary thread. I was gonna start one in response to your comment, but we have a few members who are routinely posting in their journals and it would be difficult to fragment their daily meanderings between their journals and another thread. I was gonna start a daily journal, but there would a tone of posts saying "See Above." I think women are better at that 1st Person no-context-needed stuff than men are. So start a journal. I'll comment in it.
There is an old thread that Lon started, called what will you do today? or something like that. Also "Miscellaneous Bantering".
I was a member of that forum but I left because people were able to make personal attacks. Some people cannot accept that not everyone shares their point of view. It can be hard to define politics. The subject of race and slavery, the treatment of native Americans....all these cause conflict between people. Then we have the gender issues. Those who see themselves as victims are on the defensive and spoil a rational discussion on these difficult subjects.
Meanderings, blitherings and tangents are what I do best half the time no matter the listing. I don't need no stinking journal.
LOL, just saw this, and that's one of my fave movie-lines of all time Mary Just saw another "bogie" film the other night, Key Largo, love it every time I've watched it! Love to see the good guys win, even if it's only fantasy in the movies
