From the sounds of crickets here since my last post I assume that everyone has become resigned to their monasticism. Er, hermitage?

Not so much resigned to my hermitage and toothless, curmudgeonly, chronically communicable diseased existence as being unable to find a somewhat younger and slightly less challenged companion willing to cook, clean, comfort and commiserate with this old fellow. In her spare time she can mow the acres of grass, haul the fallen trees and branches out of the 30 acres of bush and keep the flower gardens from turning into weed beds and come winter clear the 300' driveway of the dumpings of snow and keep the home fires burning. Hell I have been doing most of it for years now .... well perhaps the gardens are not exactly pretty any more!

It is sad how many of us feel we are where you are. My handsome young stud is in need of some extra care and thought now. He keeps trying but when he does ANYTHING I worry. And when he just sits in front of the tv or computer, I worry.
But think. 70 used to be old and here we are working on keeping up as much as we can. I told hubby we should make a legal document that the gov't can't come after the last one standing blaming them for not putting the first to hit the dirt into a nursing home

The good oldies are all taken, and the young women too spoiled and unwilling to lift a finger or be faithful. I heard about this "Temu" thing, I might try shopping direct from China.

A few years back my grandson said he wanted to build a phone service for seniors around to talk to each other and provide companionship. Back then I didn't like the idea and couldn't see myself using it. But fast forward to now, I feel like I would pick up the phone a use that service some times when loneliness does hit...
