The Silver Diner is still around. Ten locations in Maryland, 11 Virginia, one in DC and one in New Jersey. They've been around since 1989. I used to eat at the one in Tysons Corner all the time.
We had a couple places that retro looked like that but they closed after only a couple of years. Maybe too pricey before pricey was in.
