When you look for places to move, does the location of VA Hospitals factor in to it?

I haven't use a VA Hospital since 1997. I will use a local VA Clinic to see a PCP and get prescriptions, but that's it. I've got both VA Medical and Medicare, plus Florida Blue Supplement and Humana Rx. Both of my rotator cuff surgeries (each shoulder) and hip replacement were done at a hospital using company medical insurance (when I was employed). Last years two ER visits and hospital stays were paid by Medicare, Florida Blue and Humana Rx.

Unfortunately, VA Hospitals haven't been close to where we have lived. If I was to get admitted into a VA Hospital, my wife would have way to far to drive to visit me.

We have bought my wife a nice Felt "Silver-Belly" (white) hat. It wasn't costly, but it wasn't cheap either. It's being shipped to a Boot Barn store not far from us. This last Saturday, she found one she really liked, but the store didn't have her size. After the store gets it in, we will go to the store and have it shaped the way her Black Felt is shaped. Felt hats are, basically, for winter wearing.

What can I say, the lady likes wearing a baseball cap as well as a cowboy hat. But, she doesn't wear a cowboy hat all of the time. Sometimes she won't wear either and that's fine with me also.

One thing for sure, there are those that may be use to seeing a guy wearing a cowboy hat, but not a lady as old as my wife (76). To me, she looks great in a baseball cap or cowboy hat.

Not much been going on, but an update anyway: The heat is still going on here. Even though it's only (only?) 105, it still feels to us like 115! Basically, nobody here wants the cooler weather to come, like we do. "We love the high heat and that's one reason we moved here" we've been told. Anyway, we've been eating more at home, for dinner, than we had been, but weekends, it's more eating out than at home.

In a couple of weeks, we will be heading to Prescott, AZ to check it out for moving there. They have 4-seasons, but definitely not the kind of winters that Flagstaff and/or northern Colorado/Loveland get. Have all of our winter clothing from Colorado and our 2021 Durango has All-Terrain tires on it. Of course, we'd have to find an apartment we like, before moving there, if the move does happen. We've been to Carson City and Reno. Definitely a "no" to a move to Carson City. Too small. As for Reno, it's getting to look like Las Vegas more and more. Lots and lots of people/traffic and pretty fast-paced. Don't really want any of the three, but if Prescott doesn't work out.............

Have a Medicare Urologist appointment on November 6th. My wife will be with me. Then we will see what's happening with my high PSA number (18). I will be calling a VA Community Care Urologist that takes payment from the VA Medical. Will see when he can get me in. I may end up seeing two Urologists and get advice from both.

Dear SIL (wife's older sister) wants to come in December, during the National Finals Rodeo, and see us, but we don't want her to come at that time. We have our reasons. IOW, among other reasons, that's OUR time to have fun.

Possibly this coming 3-day weekend, we are going to local Gun/Rifle Indoor Range. Been over a year since we've been to a Range and we both want to shoot. If I can't get the Sig Sauer "Mosquito" .22 handgun to automatically eject the spent cartridge, will end up selling to a gun shop.

And, finally, still trying to sell the boat/trailer. IOW, people want "something for nothing" and my we say "no" to lowering the cost much.

    Thanks for reading!

Glad to see that you are having your PSA investigated @Cody Fousnaugh. Have you taken your Mosquito to a gunsmith? Sometimes with .22 semiautos, just the brand of ammo can make a difference. My son has one that shoots only Federal (I think) .22 LR and doesn't feed properly with any other brand of ammo he has tried...so he just uses that ammo in that gun and uses his other brands in his other guns. If you haven't tried a range of different ammo brands, I wouldn't sell it yet if you like the gun.

Yes, but it's been way, way too hot to show it. It is currently "on hold" for showing and listed that way. There were some that were interested in it, and wanted to look at it, but we just couldn't do that. Those people that were interested were much younger than we are, so they could handle the heat.

There are those that think that boating season is over when it finally cools down, but there are those here that will boat in December.

We use the exact brand of ammo, CCI Mini MAG 22LR, that is recommended for the Mosquito and have been. We tried Federal in both the Mosquito and the Ruger 10/22, but didn't like it. Actually, we like our 380 and 9 better than we do the Mosquito, so selling it would be fine with us.

Was, and note the word "was", going to do a thread about an article online, The History of Rodeo, but have decided against it, for obvious reasons. Along with NFL (specifically the Raiders and the Lions) and PGA (especially when Tiger was playing) and now WNBA (sometimes), professional rodeo (PRCA) is our number one thing. We love it and always have.

Actually, my interest started in 1984, when I went to my first PRCA rodeo in Long Beach, CA at the Long Beach Arena. I knew I wanted to be a part of it and I wound up doing just that on weekends. As for my wife, she started wearing western attire, including a cowboy hat, when she got into Line Dancing at local nightclubs. So weird that we never met at any, but we didn't. She had been to a couple of rodeos, but didn't really get the interest, until she met me. Her mother wasn't too happy when I told her that her daughter was learning the rodeo lingo and different events very fast, like I had to. Her mother said to me, "Why can't they just accept her the way she is?" and I said, "Because they won't" and the conversation ended with that.

So, if any of you want to know the history of rodeo, it's online. If not, that's fine also.
