It looks more and more like the Democrats will be replacing Biden any way that they can, despite Jill Biden refusing to agree to Biden dropping out of the presidential race.
They are trying to decide who to replace Biden with, and that is not going well , either, even though so many liberals are now seeing that Biden is showing definite signs of mental incapacity.
If they had had any better candidates before, they would have put them in the 2020 election , but they didn’t find anyone else then, and they can’t seem to decide now, either.

It sounds like they want to push either Newsom or Whitmer, but neither one of them has a good enough following.
The bad thing is, they are already past the democrat primaries, where actual voters could have chosen someone else besides Biden to run as president.
Now, it will be a decision probably made by leaders at the Democratic convention.
Biden refused to debate RFK, and he ended up changing his backing to independent when Biden was selected to run as the Democratic nominee; so he is not even a possibility to be on the Democrat ticket anymore.

Another thing, is that it is getting too late to take the Biden name off of the ballot, and that is possibly going to break up the Democrat votes, if they pick another candidate to replace Biden.
Some people will still vote for Biden if his name appears on the ballot, even if he has been replaced, and especially if they do not like whomever is chosen as the Biden replacement.

At this point, Joe Biden has lowered the bar so much that anyone who can stay awake for fifteen minutes and find his way to the bathroom without help will look like an excellent choice for Democrats. However, I suspect that the unnamed people who have actually been setting the agenda for the Biden Administration rather enjoy the freedom that comes with having a doddering old fool as a figurehead.

This is absolutely true, and I think that the problem they are having is HOW to get that “anybody else” in there. Unfortunately for the Dems, the one person that they can easily get in as president (Kamala) is maybe the one person that everyone wants lass than Biden.
If Biden steps down, or is taken out because of mental incompetence, Kamala will become president, and automatically also the candidate for 2024, since she is already there as VP.

No one wants to run Kamala for 2024, but they have to figure a way to get around that happening if they remove Biden. At this late stage, apparently the Biden name cannot be taken off of the ballots in several states, and more have restrictions that will take affect soon. So, even if he takes himself out of the race, they can’t replace him, or if they did, it might have to be with Kamala, since she is already on the Biden ticket.

Also, if they find Biden not competent to stay in the campaign, that means that he is not competent to be president either, so again, if they take that route, they still are stuck with Kamala.
This is a serious problem for the Dems, and it is one that they created themselves when they put her in as VP.
Also, because of all the “wokeness”, it would be almost impossible to replace a non-white female candidate with a white male (like Newsom), or even with Hillary.

I have heard talk about Michelle Obama as a replacement, and she would work fine for them, if they can figure out how to get past Kamala to install Obama.
Interestingly, they were talking abut this on CNN, and the announcer was running through the possible replacement names, and he actually. Said “Big MIke” over the air, then realized what he said, and fell all over himself apologizing and saying he didn’t mean to say that.

Oh, I'm sure we can make exceptions for Democrats. We usually do.

It might be a matter of whether they are able to rehabilitate Kamala in a few months. People who were willing to vote for Biden, knowing that his brain was failing, would be able to vote for anyone with a "D" after their name, then it would be a matter of whether they are able to cheat the count or manufacture enough fake votes to carry the day.

Between the Biden/Harris fiasco of the last 4 years, election irregularities, and the "legal" persecution of Trump for 8 years the US looks about a half step away from a banana republic. Or we might be closer to scenarios predicted in fiction that nobody ever took too seriously in the past.

According to Bill O’Reilly, Biden will stop his campaign. He said there are two reasons, first, his supporters think that he cannot recover from the debate loss, and second (related to the first), is that his campaign donations are drying up. He is losing all of his supporters, and people who had scheduled rallies for Biden have been cancelling them.
I do not have much faith in O’Reilly, but it is nw starting to be said all over on Twitter, so we will probably be hearing a decision before long. I do believe that the reasons are accurate, so it is just a matter of how they decide to deal with this.

I am wondering if there is a way to get past Kamala. Does anyone think so? Would this be good or bad for the Dems (if Obama gets the candidacy)?

The Biden campaign announced that they were evaluating their campaign, or words to that effect, and I don't think there's any way to come back from that. Once you are forced to admit that your campaign may not be viable, it's pretty much over.

Are none of you concerned about the image your country is projecting to the rest of the world? The Chinese and Russians must be laughing their socks off. The 'great' country of America, whose citizens consider their country the best in the world, have a doddering old fool at the helm. You should all refuse to vote at the next election unless Biden is replaced by someone who still has all his marbles.

I think the Democrat donors have pulled their support for Biden after the "debate". It may have been planned that way by the strategists to get him off the ticket, but according to the Dem rules, Biden owns the delegates he has gained, so he will have to give them to someone else should he drop out. I think Kennedy has picked up some of the donors and he is advertising more widely than he has been able to before. There was talk of a 25th amendment action by the cabinet, but that would leave Harris as President.

Many of us realize what the U.S. looks like on the world stage @Celia Jenkins, but there is little we can do about it with the corruption that has taken hold here.

Poor ol' Joe! I saw him boarding AF1 to go somewhere--perhaps back to the beach as his work week of 5 hours is done. He might be going back to the beach. Anyway, the reporters asked him what he though about the Israeli strikes in Lebanon and if he was going to send U.S. troops to assist. His response sounded like he was getting the STRIKES made by Israel on Lebanon and the upcoming longshoreman's STRIKE confused. Anyway, he is supporting the collective bargaining process.... How sad to see an old man abused in such a way. I hope that doesn't happen to me.
