Yes, years ago. Did not do well on it, but thanks for the suggestion!

Melatonin is one of those things that our body makes naturally, and makes less as we get older. So, there is no set amount at how much a person needs, because we are all different. If you feel drowsy in the morning, you might have taken more than you needed, and if it didn’t help at all, you might not have taken enough.
Plus, how much you need now is likely different than what you needed 10 years ago.

There is a great book called “Melatonin Miracle”, and it explains all of the important health benefits of getting enough melatonin, because it does SO much more than just help a person sleep better.
Melatonin is a natural hormone that our body makes, just like insulin or thyroid hormone, and when our levels of any hormone are not right, our body cannot function properly.

You've probably seen the short thread on melatonin here. The first time I tried it I took a 5mg tablet. It was groggy through the next afternoon. Some months later I tried a 1mg tablet and even that was too much. About a month ago I started cutting the 1mg tablets in half, and that worked fine. But lately I'm waking up in the middle of the night, so I may try a whole 1mg tablet. I am shocked to read folks here say they take 10mg and more. The amount they give cancer patients is insane (100mg+)

By way of reference: I read that our systems naturally make about 0.3mg of melatonin a day. So I figured that 0.5mg was a good place to be at a pure parity level.

I take 3 mg nightly most, but not every night. It seems to ease the mind. I don't get the "racing brain" that I used to get, but I still often have trouble falling asleep sometimes due to minor pains here and there. I take 10 mg. if the three doesn't work. We have an autistic grandson who has responded wonderfully to 0.1 mg of melatonin nightly. Just that small amount changed his behavior dramatically in a positive direction. Xanax is a fine solution to a situation that is discreet, i.e., for a short period such as a traumatic event or a death of someone close, but it is a benzodiazepine drug and there are discussions elsewhere on the forum discussing the problems of escaping the addiction to such.

Peak: A while back I posted about having received offers to buy our house in the mail and not liking that and if I should sue jokingly. Well I had received two more and I decided to see if there was something that could be done to have the photo listings removed. Yesterday I received an email updating me on my request initiated two or three weeks ago to Google Street View or something like that. I am happy to say every photo has been blurred so as not to be clearly seen to the public as well as listed as 'off market' in the realtors listings. It's not to say that someone will come along and do this again but it is good to know that something can be done about it.

Man, you're a bulldog. I had no idea all that could be done. But I gotta wonder if some potential buyer might not walk the property and wonder why someone in your neighborhood had pet coyotes. ;)

John B. it's weird because the photo was old probably taken 10 plus years ago. I do recall a couple of times not to long after buying the house someone walking around taking pictures but didn't have any idea what for. The house wasn't painted and didn't have a new roof back then. It's very misleading to the public I think.

That's interesting. I don't think that the real estate websites (Zillow, etc) use the Google Street View pics that are taken by cars driving around with those 360° cameras on the roof. But to think that a human with a camera has taken all those pics is a little unbelievable. Google Street View initial release was in 2007, but it was a local starter project.

I just searched on my address and looked for Images and did not see my house...but I'm 1/2 mile off of the paved road. It shows up on several real estate websites that are likely driven by public records, and only one of those websites has pics. They are the exterior and interior pics from the listing when I bought the place in 2009. So these real estate websites don't seem to share photos with each other (either voluntarily or through poaching.)

It is interesting. I found the same photo on three different realtor websites Zillow being one of them. I had contacted them by phone and then email asking them to remove the listing because it wasn't for sale and got no response at all.

I just checked the County's property index. There are photos from 2001, 2007, 2012, 2013 and 2018. My guess is they were taken when doing assessments. None of them match the one on the realtor websites.

misrepresentation in housing industry causes horrible problems. Couple years ago a one of our daughters, signed ,sealed and was delivered to her new home. n Hubby and I both thought then something was wrong-- way too good to be that true. She only spent one night in her already moved in house to be greeted at the door to the people who also was renting the house. Needless to say daughter calls crying asking for help to move as much as possible.
I know she was out $5000 or more. It was just unbelievable someone could do that to another person.
The good part is.. was only her and the fur babies. this the short version.

I don't think that I've lived in a jurisdiction where the government took pics of properties. When I moved here, the county was still in the process of populating the online real estate stuff. I forget how long it took before my purchase of this place showed up. Heck, I don't know how long it took fir the sale to get recorded on the county's written records.

I've mentioned that I cannot find data on my well because the county did not follow up to get a final report from the driller. The upside to this lack of administrative perfection is that the garage I had built and the deck & patio door I had installed (with permits and inspections) have never shown up in the assessed value of the place.

The pit of my week: It was a beautiful day so I applied some CP because of the recent raccoon activity then thunderstorms came through that afternoon. :(

The peak of my week: I had my granddaughters look at a video about seatbelt safety because I always tell them to put on their seatbelts and they do so reluctantly. After watching it I told them 'Don't let me have to tell you to put on your seatbelts again.'
    So far; so good. :)
