The UK is apparently under siege and the PM has convened a COBRA meeting to deal with the crisis. The NYSE is also under siege and to top it all off, there are reports that Biden is "really angry at Iran and Israel"!
I can’t say that I’m totally surprised. For a few years now there has been a lot of Brits on line and in the media who show a huge amount of disdain about the communities of Muslims that are springing up with many of them exercising Sharia Law. London in particular has nearly always been a cultural hub of sorts complete with just about every nationality there is but the most recent influx of Muslims seeking asylum and brokered by the government has pretty much overwhelmed that great city and the surrounding areas. Perhaps @Tom Galty can give us a better overview. I’m just writing what I have heard and read via American media but Tom should be up close and personal with the issues and can state more facts than just my less than totally informed meanderings can.
I guess the stock market is now undergoing a "dead cat bounce". At least that is what many analysts are calling it. They expect it to REALLY fall in a matter of days or weeks. We'll see. The UK crisis is still going, Bangladesh has driven the PM from office and out of the country, and Venezuela is still in uproar. Will it come here? Who knows. Russia and China are beefing up Iran's defenses, and warning the U.S. to stay out of the conflict, but, as we surely know, the U.S. can't keep its nose out of anything.
As do we @Tom Galty. Just as the protestors in the UK get treated differently, so do the Jan 6 people and the BLM/Antifa rioters. One group really DOES do a "mostly peaceful protest" and the other burns down parts of cities. From the way they are treated by police and media, you would think the groups were opposite in action.
Quite a bit to soak in Tom. I remember back when we had a lot of Vietnamese flooding into the country when and after we pulled out. One of the first remarkable nuances was the formation of terroristic type Vietnamese gangs in the larger cities in the U.S. To me, for the gentleman in the first video to say that there are or were no Muslim gangs involved in the destructions is a bit hard to believe.
The British people have been treated with contempt for far too long. It's a pity that it has taken a load of thugs and hooligans to bring racial tension out into the open, but perhaps we now have a voice.
It sounds a bit dangerous for the government to pressure the social media platforms to censor posters. I wonder how they would control internatioanl postings? With a VPN, I can post stuff in almost every country. I am not even on social media (except SOC)
