After weeks of speculation, Vice President Kamala Harris has chosen her running mate: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Harris confirmed the news in a post on social media Tuesday, writing: "I am proud to announce that I've asked Tim Walz to be my running mate. As a governor, a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he's delivered for working families like his. It's great to have him on the team. Now let’s get to work."
I really don't know much about Walz, but I have read that he is very pro-China after having lived and taught there. He also didn't have a problem with the riots destroying Minneapolis. I find find those two things disquieting.
I think Walz was a better choice than Shapiro, for Republicans, but I don't think it matters. Anyone willing to vote for Kamala Harris isn't going to be picky about the VP choice.
Walz is very far left. Some may remember when BLM rioted in Minneapolis and burned down a police station. Walz waited 18 hours to mobilize the NG, abandoned the PD and let it burn. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/othe...-in-2020-state-senate-panel-found/ar-AA1omo3W https://thehill.com/homenews/campai...a-harris-tim-walz-2024-tampon-bill-minnesota/ He's being called Tampon Tim due to a bill that he signed mandating public schools to supply free female sanitary supplies in both girls and boys restrooms. He legalized sex change operations for minors with an executive order. No limits abortion in sanctuary abortion state. https://ijr.com/tim-walz-turned-his-state-into-a-destination-for-late-term-abortions/. Walz is pro-illegal immigration. He also signed a bill that allowed the state’s nearly 81,000 undocumented immigrants to receive free tuition at a state university. Walz supports drivers licenses for illegals. -- “The inn is not full in Minnesota,” Tim Walz -- Speaking of the border wall, “I always say, let me know how high it is. If it's 25 feet, then I'll invest in the 30-foot ladder factory,” Walz Walz doesn't have much of a record on Israel and that alone would him more desirable to Harris than Shapiro who is a Jew. The pro-Hamas wing of the radical left would never vote for Harris if she had picked Shapiro. Additionally Shapiro is said to be pro-fracking and drilling or so I have read. I do know that energy is important in Pennsylvania. Flip-flopped on guns. “I had an A rating from the NRA. Now I get straight F’s. And I sleep just fine,” - Tim Walz There's a little on the economy and spending as well as some of the issues I mentioned at this link. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/where-tim-walz-stands-on-the-issues/ar-AA1olAzS Edited to add that there is a story about Walz' military record. I haven't read much about it so just have a link. https://catholicvote.org/he-quit-na...-say-walz-faked-parts-of-his-military-record/ No need to trust me on these issues, please do some research of your own.
During the COVID lock-downs, Welt stood up a Turn In Your Neighbor hotline. [sarcasm]Thank goodness the 2 of them are gonna fight Fascism.[\sarcasm]
Walz was rated the most "liberal" governor in one poll. I guess @Ken Anderson is right. Anyone who would vote for Harris probably doesn't care who is VP. One thought though. The main thing that protected Biden in the White House was the hatred of Harris. Her biggest vulnerability should she be elected might be her VP. If the Dem establishment likes Walz better, they might use her to run in the election, then throw her over and let Walz take over.
I wonder if anyone vetted Walz? Walz previously blamed “deafness” for why he fled from police after being pulled over for driving drunk after going over 95 miles per hour in a 55-speed zone in 1995. He also claimed he was “not drunk,” despite failing a field sobriety test and a preliminary breath test. At the time of the incident, Walz had an alcohol concentration of .128 percent, which is above the state’s legal limit of .08 percent. “So he sped up to try to get away, fearing that somebody was after him. Lo and behold, it was a state patrolman that was behind him, so the faster he went, the faster the state patrol officer went.” https://townhall.com/tipsheet/sarah...ing-away-from-cops-during-dui-arrest-n2643091 That's only part of it. The guy's a serial liar and we've just gone through 4 years of lies.
I just learned Walz is 60 years old. Being a Lib must really age one body. He certainly looks older that I did when I was 60 and he looks older that most, if not all, 60-year-olds I know.
Yeah, I posted a meme about his DUI but that’s not the thing that totally ticks me off about the guy. He made an anti-gun statement in which he said that (paraphrased) guns like the one he carried into combat shouldn’t be allowed for public use. It’s the part about him going into combat. He NEVER went into combat ergo he committed the egregious act of Stolen Valor which puts him somewhere between a basic scumbag and a child porn peddler in my book. J.D. is the real deal. Walz is a phony and as untrustworthy as they come.
He’s a straight up coward. When BLM and the like were burning down his cities he allowed it because he was too afraid to do anything until 3-4 days after the riots started. When his NG unit was going to be deployed, he ran out the back door. If something major happened in the United States and we had to defend ourselves against a domestic or foreign entity, he’d be cowering under his desk, unable to make a decision whilst everything burns. On the opposing side we have a potential VP who actually volunteered to go to combat then did just that and a President who told Kim Jong Un that if N. Korea tried to made good on their threats that he’d turn the country into a fireball. (paraphrased) In today’s world, I want someone in the White House who will and has protected the U.S. and not someone whose major accomplishment in life is that he can make “butter sculptures”.
It's the drinking. He has that red look that some heavy drinkers get. When I think of all the hate I've heard from the left "bone spurs" made me really giggle. Thanks Lulu, a moment of levity is good.
Good afternoon to all- Well, you folks are wrong- again. The reason Mr. Walz looks older than some folks of a similar age who have spent their lives inside is that he was a football coach- and a good one. And if you ever see a young looking experienced football coach, then you need to take a photo. Most coaches get that red and older look from the years in the sun on the practice fields. And not to put too fine a point on it, I wouldn't say ANYTHING about the appearance of any other candidate if I supported the bloated orange man. Now, that's a rough looking individual. you all be safe and keep well- Ed
