I suspect they think something was spiked with stuff that Perry was not aware of. Meanwhile, Alec Baldwin points a gun at someone and kills them....
Several people arrested - including two doctors: https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/arrest-made-matthew-perry-death-investigation Federal and local law enforcement officials on Thursday announced that multiple arrests were made in connection to the overdose death of Matthew Perry. U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Martin Estrada announced five defendants, including two doctors, were arrested and charged with multiple counts during a live press conference. The "Friends" star died Oct. 28 after an apparent drowning in a hot tub at his home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles. He was 54.
I skimmed the article. Are they complicit in enabling the habit of a star, or are they suspected of actually killing him? I thought I read something about him being injected by others, but they also said they found the drug in his stomach, which would not happen with a needle. ps: Once again I must voice my thanks for my low-key middle class life.
@John Brunner - far as I know it is case of giving him what he ordered- via some texts. So he apparently fell off the wagon drug wise and was searching for it.
The 5 being charged killed him....poor guy battled addiction most of his life I've heard and these people made money on his death. It's reported he lived in Pacific Palisades which is very close to Santa Monica, my town, and yrs ago a Palisades MD had my daughter strung out on pharma drugs....she's paying a high price for this failures.
I never heard of Ketamine (the drug that killed him): "Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic used medically for induction and maintenance of anesthesia. It is also used as a treatment for depression and pain management. It is a compound that was derived from phencyclidine in 1962 in pursuit of a safer anesthetic with fewer hallucinogenic effects. Wikipedia Addiction liability: Moderate–high." With a controlled narcotic, to avoid suspicion about excess quantities going to the same patient, celebrities' doctors will often write many prescriptions using different fabricated names of patients. That's how Michael Jackson's doctor obtained many grocery bags full of Rx drugs from his house. That came out at the doctor's trial.
I read an article stating the Perry also had a bunch of prescription meds around. As I said, I'm glad I'm not in this class of people. You make all this money in entertainment and you are shielded from the accountability of a regular 9-5 workday. You also don't have "regular" friends who are gonna tell you that you're doing something real stupid to yourself...and you have enough money to do some really stupid stuff. There was a Court TV show on about this case last night, with all the long knives out against those who gave the addict the drug. "They profited off of his addiction," said the people who were on a show that profited off of discussing his death. None of those talking heads and "guest attorneys" were working for free. I could only stomach so much righteous indignation and hypocrisy.
Yes, there are some downsides to having such wealth. I thought about that after Kobe Bryant's death. If he was just a regular working person, he couldn't have afforded his own helicopter. When he was younger, I saw an interview with him after he bought a Ferrari. He said, "I love it; when I hit the gas it's so fast it's like being strapped into a rocket." I remember thinking, "I hope he lives long enough to enjoy it."
They say when you win the lottery, you stay the person you were before you won it. Hubby and I have always joked/dreamed about what we would do. He said, I want my half off the top (after taxes) because you will give it all away. I am very cheap and basically have everything I want, except for maybe landscapers to do all the trimming on the farm. But first, I would throw up.
