In recent years we have seen so many changes to what society deems to be ethical and unethical that there are times when we or rather, at least I get confused.
As examples, from our national stance on immigration to a new era of sexuality to simple local law enforcement, it is no wonder that one has to question and weigh each side in order to come to a logical conclusion as to whether some act is truly ethical or unethical.

Now, I am opening the thread with a 2 minute video that questions the ethics of a policeman.
Whilst the officer can be praised for his humanitarian efforts, one can also question whether he did the right thing according to our laws regarding thievery.

I am sure there are other examples that others can give so we can peruse and question the ethics of a situation so feel free to whet the philiosphical taste buds with your own quandary.
Example: How about being able to legally walk around nude in Oregon and Washington?

I follow Troy Black, sometimes he is too long winded but I usually get something from his vids. He speaks of the great shaking. All of the bad stuff going on. And I finally understand and know what he says is true. We need to go back to God or turn to God for the first time. Funny, we don't do it much if things are going well.
As far as legality, societies dictate that. The policeman may have taught that man something and the officer was obeying God's law.

It’s true that the officer showed compassion but where the ethics rub is, what of the shop lifters that were put into jail probably on that same day by other officers who were simply doing what the law says to do?

In the video, the officer “squared away” everything with management by (more than likely) paying for those items that were stolen but the man still broke the law and by pure merit that its the officer’s job to uphold the law…..? On one hand, he did the ethical thing as a human but as a cop, he bent the rules that he was hired to enforce which is unethical.
And, again, what of those who shop lifted on that very day who were taken to jail and had to face a judge?

Personally, I admire the cop and have seen some of his other videos also but in the arena of ethics, there are no ‘gray” areas between right and wrong.
It’s like a lie or a truth. There is no such thing as a “white lie” just as there is no such thing as a partial truth. It is either one or the other which makes the philosophical aspects of ethics that much more interesting and confusing at the same time.
