I wonder if they thought it was some kind of terrorist threat @Kate Ellery? I can think of no other reason for such behavior.

It was weird to say the least @Don AlaskaI’ve never experienced anything like that before to warrant being TOLD …to leave the bank …and go sit out… in the mall

There was about 5 workers and they all disappeared …….but I would have thought they would call security if something was going on …who knows ….but it sorta points to that woman with the bag of money that tried to ….BULLY Me

I have a rant about light bulbs. specifically those for outdoor use. I have been searching locally for flood light bulbs for the winter. Everything I can find even here are LEDs. While I like LEDs for indoor use; they are far superior to the CFLs that they replaced. Every LED bulb I have found states, "not to be used below -4 F./-20 C". It is below those temperatures for 5 or more months here (November through March typically) and when I show that to the people in the stores, they are befuddled. One hardware store manager said, "Blame those you vote for." NOBODY i vote for would be that stupid (I hope). The state with the coldest, darkest, and longest winter is supposed to be in the dark in order to save Chinese jobs. Halogens are apparently still legal, for I can get them through Amazon.

We had a heck of a time getting replacement bulbs that were as bright, comparatively, as our old bulbs. They say how much light they put out with less watts but they don't compare when we use them.

I agree Mary. I always look for the old light bulbs for areas that I prefer to be bright for outside and in the basement.

USPS... need I say more???:mad::mad: I sent my son an Aerogarden from the Woot! sale. They shipped it via USPS and yesterday it was in Austin, 20 miles from his house. It was expected to be delivered today. Instead, it has gone on to El Paso which is 620 miles from his house. What the actual hell?

Guess he won't be getting that delivery today after all.

I don't know if this is a rant or an "I weep for my nation." It's also a rerun of the same story we all have.

I was out running errands and went by Burger King. The total was $10.04, so I handed the girl a $20 bill and fished in my pocket.

Me: "Here. I have 4 cents."
SBOES¹: "Sorry. I already entered it into the machine."
Me (nicely): "Here, take this 4 cents, give me a $10 bill, and we'll let the machine go on break."

After I drove off, I wondered if she was worried that the machine will cause her to come up short at the end of the shift. Maybe from now on I'll just let it slide. Poor kid.

What is extra sad is very few youth know how to count back change unless they work at a bank. I finally convinced my granddaughter, an avid thrift store and yard sale sleuth. to never accept a bunch of bills. Make the seller either count them back or at least show what they are handing you is the same amount as what their machine says is your change.

They never taught that stuff in my school. I learned from just watching others. Once there is no one to watch how do you learn? And most people pay with a credit card anyway so why bother teaching it now. Not worth getting upset over.

It's basic math. No one can do math in their heads anymore because they are taught to use a calculator. I'm not upset for myself, I'm upset for these kids who are intentionally not being allowed to use their brains in school...and beyond. It's not about counting change. The new "techniques" are intentionally repressing capabilities. They don't learn how to learn. The answer is whatever the calculator says it is. That's not math.

It seems that every time I think I've remediated some risk & stress with this catheter, something stupid gets in the way. Last week I learned how to swap this thing myself, so figured that at least I can remediate a clogged cath crisis in the middle of the night. (I'm negotiating with my urologist regarding how many times a month I can have this swapped out.) The nurse was supposed to call him Thursday morning (he's out of town) to get a read on how frequently I can do this (their office + me at home) and I've not heard back. In the meantime, I went online to my favorite medical supply place and got an order together of the required supplies and catheters. I went to Checkout and the catheters require a prescription!!!

This is ridiculous. What in the heck is someone gonna do with catheters that the supplier needs a doctor's permission before shipping? (That's one nasty habit, dude.) And this urology office's back-end sucks when it comes to processing scripts. I've yet to have one get processed without me repeatedly nagging them (the last time the beleaguered nurse told me she was working on a backlog of over 1,000 script requests faxed from pharmacies.) They are 0 for 5 with my scripts and refills going though properly.

So I do not have my crisis remediated. I tried going to the manufacturer to get "samples," and they directed me to a distributor who also told me that I'll shoot my eye out and I need a script. I can get catheters on EBay without a script, shipped direct from China. (They're probably dipped in COVID.) I'm putting together a message to send via the patient portal to get a script and am trying to figure out how to word it so they don't think I'm going rogue with swapping out catheters for the entire neighborhood and trying to put them out of business.

Send your SoC post to your Urologist, your pharmacy and the state board of Urologists or whatever medical board is to your liking with a postscript explaining what the post is and how hard it was not to list the names of the Doctor’s office and pharmacy responsible for filling your scrip.

You might also explain how a search engine works ……

I'm sorry, John. I misunderstood your point. It came across to me as just another trashing of young people as being stupid. You happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Not a problem, my friend. I gotta giggle. I am the king of Ready/Fire/Aim.

As I was driving away from the encounter, I wondered how many "adults" our age were engaged in a similar transaction and gave her (or her counterparts) grief of some degree for something that ain't necessarily their fault. Although I will admit there have been times I've been frustrated with the human in front of me rather than the broken system behind them.
