Yeah, I think it's going down, hate to be pessimistic, but I'm feeling pretty helpless, and bad about losing the one, good, Senior web Forum online :(

among all the incorrect URL addresses that come up. Once I actually get to a page that's normal, I bookmark it, but even that's not working to use the bookmarks, not every time. I hit F5 in Windows 10 which refreshes page, and that can help, different tricks to get where I want to be, but it's really raising the ole anxiety.

I really would miss this site, terribly, you don't know how much you miss something until it's gone, or you just know it's dying.

I turned off my VPN thinking that would change things but it hasn't. Hadn't thought about my adblocker but this issue is much deeper than that I'm afraid. I will try turning off adblocker though, good idea ;)

nope, didn't change anything turning off adblocker. I didn't even realize I hadn't turned off the dang thing for this site. I never had issues with ads on this site before, but other internet "surfing" is why I have the adblocker on at all.

As Ken has been trying to explain, it is NOT this website that is the problem, it is the servers that host the website. They know that there is a problem, but they are not responding to any of Ken’s requests to fix the issue, and they are the only ones who can do it.
Nothing we do with our computer/tablet,etc is going to make any difference at all, and the site just works when it does and doesn’t when it doesn’t.

We have also had huge solar flares recently, and those upset any transmission also. Plus when it looks like a lot of people are on the site as visitors, that is often just a DDOS attack or some kind of spam bots, and there is nothing the forum can do about those either, since it is not this forum they are specifically targeting.
We are just “collateral damage” from whatever the main target is.

The forum is not going away, it just needs the server people to get busy and fix our servers, and put us on a better one. (Or something like that….)

I appreciate that Yvonne, it's just that the "why's" of it all are I guess, nice to know because I understood some time ago it's not anything Ken to do more about, he's already tried. I think for me, I just like to vent about it, not just for myself, but so other know it isn't "their" computers. I do think it's great that you know so much about the "why's" of it all though ;) Also, I am hoping we can all hang in there if you're sure the site isn't going to be unuseable, which right now, as much tech-knowledge as I do have, I am having a very hard time, but thank you for all the info, denise

I do know the rest of you also want the site to be easily navigated as it was, especially during this time our country is in. I rely a lot on you "newsies" ;)

Anyone else here getting Resource Limit Reached messages? I am guessing it is a server problem and nothing can be done about it.

It is a server problem, the server people are working on it, but not very fast or very well. We have been dealing with this intermittently.
Once they move us to a better server, it should be fine again. However, when they migrate the forum, we may be completely offline during the migration time, however long that takes.

Hey @Tex DeLeon hang in there as Ken is in the process of fixing our issues here. You can read about it here, and you are right about it being the servers ;)
Welcome to SOC, it will get better and this is the best senior bunch I've ever found online ;)

Shoot, I can't find Ken's message, I'm having bunches of trouble here as well. Can anyone give @Tex DeLeon Ken's message on getting the site straightened out he's working hard to do??

@Kate Ellery - there are bugs to work out and that is one of them I suspect. That is reason Ken want sot wait before upgrading software.

In the Downtime thread, Ken mentioned that your browser's bookmark might need to be changed so you log on to the new secure version. I won't butcher Ken's instructions. You can read them here, Kate.

Actually, I will butcher them ;)

1-Clear your browser's cache (if you don't know how to do this, tell me which browser you're using and I'll post instructions.)

2-Change your shortcut for this site to this: https://www.seniorsonly.club/

I'll try to fix it tomorrow so that, whether you enter HTTP or HTTPS, it will go to HTTPS. I just have to figure out how to access the root file that I need to edit, since I just today got access to the hosting account and I am swamped with other stuff today.
