It's supposed to get down into the upper 30s for 2 days. That is close to the record low (35F) for October 16th here. Point is you aren't supposed to lay blocks if it gets below 40 degrees F for 7 days. Promise not to mention this project again until it's all done, unless a catastrophe happens.
No. Only the nighttime lows will be in the 30s for 2 days here. Daytime highs in the 60s and 70s. I should have said, you are not supposed to lay blocks or bricks unless the temps will never drop below 40 degrees for 7 days in a row following. I'm ready to move on to something else. Guess I could always vacuum or dust or wash windows for a day.
Weather is such a dictator. We had no rain for weeks and I kept saying, I should stain the decks for winter. Now we have cold and rain and I only have two days in the foreseeable future that I can do it now
Love your porch, @Joe Riley. The floor turned out beautifully. I like the old-style door and window with the transoms above, and the side lights beside the door. I wish I had a door like that. Maybe I could knock out between the studs on either side of my door, and above it, and put in glass blocks. Ha! I see you are ready for Halloween. Do you decorate for every season?
We decorate for the Season, as a rule. We do not do Halloween as such...the pumpkin, and black cat are on a pillow. The Owl is a vase and the Crow is a permanent decoration in our cabin room. We had a fairly new Diamond porch swing, that we gave to our grand daughter a few years back. The porch was originally closed in on the ends (the lower half, vertical tongue and groove, with glass panes above). Having the floor replaced has given it new life.
