I hate to gloat after such terrible weather in other areas.. but sunny and 68 here in tiny town Kansas
Sad about the flood regions. But We are starting a beautiful Indian Summer. Dry enough to burn, (not too dry). The colors will probably only be yellow and brown this year because of the drought leading up to this time. But the sun is golden and not too hot. The air is lovely. Wild asters white and purple. Poofy milk weed, corn being harvested and fields turned...
The weather has been simply beautiful this past week! Blue skies, sunshine, and low humidity with a light gentle breeze. We have been busy doing lots of work outside before it decides to get either rainy, windy, or cold. We also had the Northern lights once again, a few days ago.
Like @Krystal Shay, I rake up leaves regularly especially before it rains in the Fall. It's somewhat windy today and the leaves are like raining down. It's also a nice 78 degrees, sun is surrounded by clouds.
Dave's bagger died and we sent it out to see if we could get it fixed. The leaves are not unmanageable yet but will be in a week or two. The bagger is double quantity for the back of his lawn tractor. We need it for the woods. The weather is still quite nice.
In PA at the moment and the weather is delightful. The leaves are pretty too, but it is supposed to start raining and getting cooler tomorrow. At home there is light snow, a small earthquake (4.2 magnitude) and power outages everywhere due to something called a "shed event' whatever that is. Those without backup heat will be suffering. Flooding and heavy snow in some areas south of Anchorage, so the disasters just keep coming.
Well…..not good ..didn’t have any power for 13 hours … https://www.news.com.au/technology/...l/news-story/9be5b2652ccf609073406a87bc758d76 copied this 39,000 lost power as 250,000 lightning strikes thrashed SA SA’s skies were lit up with more than 130,000 lightning strikes as it was thrashed by winds of at least 130km/h Seven transmission towers have collapsed, leaving thousands without power, as a “possible tornado” ripped through parts of South Australia overnight.
Goodness Kate seems there are storms everywhere this month. Take care hop power is restored soon. We're still cleaning up from Helene.
