It has a low settings and timer, so that shouldn't be an issue. You can borrow it anytime, but the price of getting here may be more than a dryer.
We have 10lbs of black beans to can our daughter left here. She used 10bls of our pintos. Black beans are better for you but we like pintos best in bean wraps. Maybe can them next month.
I have an old Ronco food dryer which is akin to dying over a lightbulb. but it seems to work well, even for tomatoes.
Step 3 …this is all apricots that are to mushy …to dry as half’s … @Jake Smith @Marie Mallery We cut each slab down the middle ….roll up and slice like a Swiss roll Store in freezer
Our half’s ..process …….20 kg on each dryer …( old screen doors DH converted to drying tables ) I cover then at night ..no issues with bugs what so ever ..only …ants the very reason I stand the legs of the “ tables “ in water filled ice ream containers
Thanks @Marie Mallery …..Sadly we didn’t get any apricots last year so these photos are from 2022 Tree looking good this early in season …they are normally ripe in mid December
That is basically how I do everything from grapes to apples. Wellllll slicing the apples and tomatoes--thicker produce.
Me to @Mary Stetler I might buy / try doing pears this coming summer I’ve dried chunky sliced peaches ( my peach is loaded this year) apples the same as the apricots and have dried apple rings in dryer , I keep most of my dried fruits in the freezer in vacuum sealed bags
