Thanks, Jake. Thankfully, I am not having a gout attack at this time, though I had one a couple of weeks ago (which is why I set up the doctor appointment). The thing is, most people have some burden they must carry, and it seems like the older we get the more burdens we have. We truly never know what is going on in someone else's life or what misery they might be dealing with (health, family, finances, whatever.)

This reminds me of a post I read earlier today on the IBC Facebook group. This is kind of long but has a message for all of us. (Click to open)

Beth much of mine is anziety ,most of the time for not reason be doing things we like and boom! But then getting older there is always something going on. Joint ache, injury, or nausea etc.
On a site we were on several years ago this man said, " getting old ain't for sissy's" and boy was he right.
I noticed when you were going thru the cancer, I thought what a strong woman you are, not even knowing this other thing was also acting up at times. Jake and I did keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Glad you're not having an attack from the gout, hope it goes away forever. I read the lady's, fb post; and agree, you never know what someone else is dealing with, and I always try to; take it under consideration, just in case; usually, you will find out what's happening; just by being a little patient and considerate to others. Doesn't hurt or cost anything to be kind. :)

I'm sorry you have to deal with so much, Marie. I know you have health issues on top of the anxiety to deal with. I think a lot of anxiety at our age is due to our health. When we were young we never had thoughts of "is my time running out", but I sure do have those thoughts now. I'm close to my mother's age when she died.

I appreciate the support, but I'm sure everyone is sick and tired of hearing about my cancer. (I'm sick of hearing myself, lol.) That was kind of a defining moment in my life so it seems like I'm always referring to it. Pretty boring!!

I understand exactly what you mean about, getting tired of hearing it yourself; when I injured my back in 2000, screamed out like a girl, "highest" notes I've ever hit, and haven't been able to hit them since. It was something like Barry Gibb does, "forsetto", I think he said. But anyway; I got tired of hearing myself talk about it too; so usually I try not to mention it, but I am aware of my three cages in the spine, two ten inch rods, and six screws and nuts in my back. When a storm is coming, or it's high or low front, is coming; not sure which, it can knock me down for up to a week, I have to use my walker, for that week, sometimes; it's weird; I could be a weatherman, for those storms when they're on the way; "for sure".

Another reason; I always say, I am very "grateful", to be able to do as much as I am able to do. :)

Beth we all have times when we want to talk about our health or our problems in general.

That's one thing that's great about SOC; we can share our worries and woes... and sometimes our happiness. There's a lot to be said for being able to talk to our peers.

We all have our issues to deal with, Tony. Bless your heart, you have had more than your share in the past couple of years.

Sometimes pain can seem so unbearable, until you see or hear those whose pain is undeniably worse than your own.

I just made a run to HEB to pick up a few groceries. They have my favorite cola on sale, which is a STORE BRAND!!! Their own branded cola is made with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, and it really tastes good. Also, it is much cheaper than buying Coke. Regular price is $4.96 for 12 cans; Coke is $8.49 for 12. This week the HEB sodas are 2 12-packs for $7! I don't usually drink much soda but since I have cut back on beer (gasp) I have a few sodas a week.

I also grabbed a large bag of assorted Halloween candy; I believe 175 pieces. This bag of candy was $22.16!! I can't afford many trick-or-treaters this year.

Chocolate prices have skyrocketed, so anything containing chocolate or cocoa will be expensive.

"Everything" skyrocketed; groceries are doubled, at least, compared to four years ago.

Agree. The grocery store (especially the meat department) is a scary place. I feel like I need an armored car to bring stuff home. uhoh.gif
