The purpose of an alliance is for mutual support, and, like the illegal aliens were taking into our country, Ukraine has nothing to offer us and probably wouldn't make it available to us if they did. Ukraine wants to join NATO as a dependent nation, and we already have enough "allies" who wouldn't lift a finger to help us if we needed it. Sure, they want to join NATO in the same way that many of us would like to join any organization that promises to pay all of our bills and expect nothing in return.
You don't need to convince me and there won't be any convincing the people who run Harris if she is elected.
I don't know which thread the news about newspapers refusing to endorse a candidate was posted yesterday but USA Today has joined them today. Makes me smile.
I guess I don't see the advantage, since they are printing all the "Orange Man Bad" bullshit it's obvious who they actually DO endorse.
A lot of the staff of both the Washington Post and the LA Times have resigned. Musk's cleaning of the Twitter staff has shown how that makes the media much more efficient, so I suspect they will not be able to get another job at a comparable salary and they will experience the Biden-Harris economy themselves.
I don't know that there is an advantage but I throughly enjoy seeing leftist reporters out of work and the loss of thousands of subscribers reading the crap they publish. Just a personal quirk, I guess.
IMO if the Urkrane had been in NATO, Putin would not have invaded. No one wants to see a resurrection of the old Soviet Union.
I remember when they had MORE integrity. In the 1970s I subscribed to the Christian Science Monitor and I found it to be very fair and even-handed. I remember that whenever they addressed a political subject, they showed both sides. There would be two parallel columns with op-eds from each side. It allowed me to form opinions based on the information provided. I don't know if that paper is still in publication, but last I saw they had become a Leftist paper like all the others.
If Trump had been in office, Putin wouldn't have invaded. Biden, whose family has significantly profited from Ukraine, waited until a war was underway to involve the United States in it; ineffectually, at that. In effect, the Biden administration is laundering tax money through Ukraine in return for all that the Biden family has collected. You seem to misunderstand the purpose of an alliance completely. A country is not our ally because they are willing to take billions of dollars from us.
I used to believe journalists had integrity; now I look back and figure I was mostly in agreement with them so it seemed legit. News should be reported; not slanted. "Just the facts, ma'am."
That's why I hang out on that other forum with 10,000+ members. You can read arguments from all angles, see people pick apart the positions of others while they also defend their own thoughts.
