I think I mentioned this earlier... While for now we cannot Upload pics to the server, we can still Link pics (and videos) from websites and from image hosting services. That's how pics are still being posted in the jokes forums. Anything that gets Uploaded is saved on the Forum Server and is under our control, thus ensuring permanence. The downside to Linking from external sources is that those external sources are under someone else's control. So those Links can get broken for a variety of reasons (the website goes away, the url to that page gets changed, the source pic gets deleted, etc), resulting in the (IMG) placeholder we occasionally encounter. For that reason--as longer as the servers are working--we prefer to have pics Uploaded rather than Linked. But the Link function always works, even with the current server issues.

I don't get to reading every post, or if it's been awhile, I don't remember things as well as I used to. I appreciate you reposting how we can insert a photo with a link. I have Amazon Photos, and Google Photos. So I can use either of those I figure, thanks much.
That wasn't so much an admonishment of you as it was a preemptive against others telling me that I'm repeating myself And it is something one would not think of doing when "Posting pics" seems to be broken. It's actually "Saving to Server" that's the problem. Even saving small Avatar pics is temporarily unavailable...yet we can still Link to large You Tube videos.

Right now avatars cannot be changed. Nor can you upload pics from your computer and post them in comments. The only thing we can do is post pics in comments if those pics are linked from websites.
You don't wanna ask me. I started the "We're changing hosting services" rumor. But seriously, we're still at the mercy of the hosting service. I do wish you could get rid of that pumpkin. There was a cheesy horror movie called "Pumpkinhead," and your avatar keeps reminding me of it.
