No, everything is done in copper pipe. The leak is near the boiler which is fairly new so it was not replaced all the pipes there are original.
For me going into the basement down That staircase is a challenge, So I don't go down there often. There are still some things in the basement I wanted to check out but I haven't been able to, My walking balance and strength Has been terrible.

Nobody said getting old was gonna be easy.

I had to go back and look. I misremembered that your whole house had been replaced.

My sister lives in New Jersey. She has an oil furnace that also serves as a water heater year round. I guess you have hot water radiators? Other than maintaining the mechanics, that's a comfortable heat source.

The original house which was a small farmhouse, had cast iron radiators, with wood stoves than oil heat. It Was converted many years ago to baseboard heat, Before we moved in. This house has 2 extentions one was added by us. We replace the existing oil firing furnace, replaced it with Gas, with a separate water heater. The new system after the fire is using the original furnace but it is now hot air heat, and a/c.
To be honest with the handlers and ducts all over the place in the attic and basement, if I knew how much space they take I wouldn't have done it.

It's been one of those days. First, my wife's mammogram was rescheduled because of our mix-up. I got an alert on my phone from the Radiology service that they have to reschedule my MRI, so now, instead of going this Monday, it's the following Monday. The delay is because of a screw up between the doctor's office and the radiology service to get the authorization needed for my insurance company. I'm told they have everything they need now to get the authorization.
It's been one of those days where we spent a lot of time on the phone resolving issues. Seems like the higher the tech, the bigger the issues.

Never before in the history of Man has it been possible to screw up so much so effortlessly.

I was reading of thread a day or so ago about night phobia. I believe I Have a touch of it, I'll get up in the middle of the night Waiting for the sun to rise.
Early this morning It was on my mind so I jotted this down.

    SLEEPLESS NIGHT
As the twilight fades to dark
I hear the distant dogs begin to bark
I face another night of dread
Trying to sleep in an uncomfortable bed
The room is dark and silent and feels so cold
The night brings the worms out of their hole
What's the use? There will be no sleep for me
Should I get up and try some soothing tea
Again, night phobia has me in its hold
Is this happening because I've gotten old
The darkness feels scary I know it's all in my mind
Where is that sunrise? Give Me A Sign
The night is so dreary, sunshine is so happy and warm
In the dark, my mind acts different it transforms
Will it be at night I take my last breath
Is that it? Am I scared of death?
What good has the night done?
A flower grows, a smile shines, this all happens in the sun
How can a shade make me feel like a thrall
Is it not the same floor or color on the wall?
Why do I worry? Go to sleep
Think what the heck, I'll just count some sheep.

Great poem, Tony. You really captured the essence of night terrors. I was just thinking that the sunshine is one reason I never want to be buried. I want my ashes scattered where I can still feel the sun.

    Thank you,
I agree I don't want to be buried either.
I can tell you something really dumb about my feelings. If ever there was a nuclear war, I don't fear the nuclear attack as much as having to live in a cave or in a shelter under the grown. That would bother me more.
I always feel better in the sun. How does the song go "cloudy days and Mondays alway get me down"

Steps can be very dangerous. I walk real slow up or down stairs. I also lean slightly forward when going down especially. So if I fall its backwards, not forward. Better a broke tailbone than neck.

I'm hurting right now. I moved about 6 or 8 cement blocks off a slab that we're preparing for a shed to go on in 2 weeks. I don't recall cement blocks feeling this heavy. This Thursday, a crew we hired will clean out the overgrowth of plants and vines. I needed to get the blocks out of their way. Back and neck pain are the results of this effort.
I can rest now, I'll find another challenge for tomorrow.

Hope you are better soon, we have to be careful, but here I am sitting here with bruises and cuts scratches all over me. It is hard to slow down or stop, I have been doing inside work only last two days though.

I did write a partial song once, We had one of those casio Electric Piano, it had a feature where You can record what you played. So I wrote a melody and then the words it wasn't finished but it was a start. The piano broke and was tossed so Lost the melody, At about the same time I lost the words. Remember, I know nothing about writing music, it was never put on paper. I do remember the 1st line of words to the song "You took me down a different street" but that's it.
