Maybe it is just the way I have things set up here. Sometimes it tells me to sign in to ensure I am not a bot, but today the videos start, then stop, then start again, and at about 30 seconds or so everything goes black and I get a "something went wrong" message
I suppose folks in Western Washington may riot if Trump wins, but when that happened during the BLM/Antifa riots, the governor didn't seem to care. People in Eastern Washington won't riot, but they may just up and join Idaho.
Oh, I agree. The potential for violence feels minimal to me, but there probably are those running in fear of hype about January 6th and fictionalized scenarios portrayed in campaign ads. Maybe some of it is "projection" based on the BLM rioting and the other brick throwing and looting that came in the years before that. This "activation" may even be nothing but a last-ditch Election ploy to turn a few more votes.
Same here in Oregon @Don Alaska and @Jacob Petersheim. All the rural/country and small towns house the conservatives. Portland/Salem/Eugene and I will include Bend, but not sure how bad it is there. Lots of the rich from California live in our High-desert area. If there's riots they are in those places, so far anyway. The largest, geographic of Oregon has been fighting to either join with Idaho, and/or get rid of the people who are changing Oregon for the worse. Small time home-gardners to produce their family food have been slapped with such expensive regulations that they can't even grow their own food. That goes for any home-business I suspect, or should say small-business
The one thing that registers the highest, for me personally, is the fact I've been afraid to travel at all. That, as you guessed I'm sure is because of the millions of illegals that have been welcomed in, and we all know there are criminals, even terrorists among them. I never thought I'd be afraid to go any place outside my "supposedly" safe apartment. If Trump isn't put back in the Whitehouse, I don't see us standing one chance of deporting them. Of course we'd have to find them first This is, in my time, the most important election and I don't want to get all worked up about it, I just feel a need to talk to folks I know that understand a lot of what I mean. I've been starting to wonder, and anyone is welcome to straighten me out, if the MAGA rallies have just been some sort of "the best party to go to" since I'm doubting some of them don't even vote. Human's are so unpredictable and few I would ever truly trust. PS I do mean party hardy party, not R or D type party. I feel guilty because I know I'm not going out today to talk 10 people into voting. I just can't do that, unless the topic just happens to come up. I can't handle the anxiety of trying to spread the word. I can share what I feel/think online, but in person, I just want to get along. There, I said it, and not proud of it
SW Washington is Vancouver, WA, and it is pretty large, Columbia River separates it from Portland OR. I'm glad the governor is readying the National Guard. I know the conservatives, the real ones anyway, won't riot so it's the "outlaws" as usual that hate our constitution & laws. I'm glad my niece and her family live up in Bellingham. I imagine they won't have rioting, but can't be sure because it's a college town.
There are an awful lot in enclaves in Idaho, e.g. Sun Valley. I see them posturing with wokeness on social media, lording over the "rabble" while insisting they aren't the rich. There also seems to be a second tier of upper middle class who somehow made darned good money as civil servants in Idaho.
Yes, I don't really believe there is going to be anyplace to get away from the crazies that seem hell-bent on destroying the country that has given them everything they have.
I don't know. I kept meaning to get to a rally when one was held nearby, but I never found out about them until they were happening. But from watching video of them and interviews with those attending, I'd guess a good 90% or higher actually do vote. I haven't seen evidence of boozing or smoking dope there, and no stories of post-rally problems in the local bars afterward.
Yes, I hope you are right Jacob, about them actually voting. I sure couldn't wait until today to vote, I was afraid of the numbers trying to vote today, and having to stand in line. I'm tempted to go down to headquarters today though, just to be with like-minded voters. We used to vote at schools, and other polling areas as I recall. I still see some of those types of places around the States but we don't have that here any longer. The way the "system" is now just makes it too easy for cheating. The next thing will be online-voting. God help us then, and I expect the anti-Christ to show up anytime now.
Oh, I'm not doing anything of the sort myself. I don't need the aggravation. But I might also be lucky. In my older neighborhood people are pretty calm. There are some Trump signs but there is a lot more subtle "code" like putting out their American flags or putting out red/white/blue lights on the shrubbery for the past week after taking down Halloween stuff. I'm in an area at the fringes of a city, sort of a second-tier suburb. From here I can easily reach smaller towns further out, often going there for groceries. Lots of Trump signs and signs supporting workers, police, firemen, etc. So I suspect quite a few will vote for Trump and probably already have.
I refuse to worry. For now I'm pretty encouraged. People are seeing through a lot of the fiction. This is long but even 10 minutes of it is pretty funny:
It is calm around where I live too, I am very lucky I know. I have my flag in my window, and others in the area do have the red/white/blue lights up. Some of the other apartments, my neighbors in the building have our flag, and lots of decor outside their doors. Mine is still just fall sorts of decor I prefer seeing the American Flag over other things. The country is so divided, so I am glad I'm not having to have a lot of stuff to run into when I'm out talking walks, or driving. I'll take a look at your video now, Thanks Jacob
