Just got back from taking my wife for her mammogram. I'm so glad the elections are over, and the results should be calming for my wife. She has been stressed that Trump will lose, and we will be a communist country. 3 or 4 weeks ago, I told her to listen to the people, Trump is going to win in a landslide. Needless to say, she's very relieved. I thought it was inappropriate that Kamala last night told her supporters to go home without thanking them.
Hillary did the same thing when she lost. The election was over...the useful idiots are no longer of much use to people like that. This is how classless narcissists treat others.
My radiology lab called to ask if I wish to change my MRI date from this Monday to this Friday. I accepted. It feels good to get it over sooner rather than later. I just saw a news flash that Kamala called Trump to concede the election. She will have a news conference at 4:00pm.
My wife decided to go on a trip this weekend to Hershey Pennsylvania with my daughter and grandkids. She should go to keep my daughter company. I am sure they will stop at Hershey Park. I won't go on these outings my walking will slow them down. I have plenty to keep me busy here. I am expecting the cleanup crew here around noon to clean out the cement slab in preparations for a shed to go on it. The shed comes with the side walls primed ready for painting. We have to get color chips we'd like to match the color of the shed to the siding on the house. I am not sure if we will do the painting or hire someone. The shed also has to be caulked. They sent me a picture indicating the areas that should be caulked. I have about 12 storage tubs filled with my vinyl record albums that have to go into the shed. My plan is to pull these albums out clean them either keep them or donate them. I would like also to digitize some of them to CD's. Some albums only have maybe one or two songs I really like, I can digitize these, and donate the album. This will be a fun project for me, I don't think I live long enough to do them all, but still it will bring back memories as I see these old friends again.
My wife, daughter, and grandkids just left for Hershey Pennsylvania. The house will be quiet for the next two and a half days hooray!!! My wife, in a stern voice, said I was not to go outside to do any work because if I fall, there's nobody here to help me. I was planning on trying to get about five jobs done while they were gone. Two are outside. The cleanup crew that cleared out the cement slab for the shed took down an old stockade fence. They piled the posts and fences in the front of the house. I had to break the pickets of the fence in half and put them in a trash can for garbage pickup day. I did half of the pile Thursday night when the crew left, for garbage pickup on Friday. The weather is looking good, so I want to finish the job today for Tuesday's garbage pickup.
If I fall inside the dogs will lick me to death. I'll be working outside in the front if I should fall Somebody will see me and at least roll me to the side out of traffic.
I have one trash can that is nearly filled with fence pickets that I broke in half. I broke the pickets by bending them until they snap, unfortunately one snaped back and hit me in the forehead. I'm glad it was a section without nails. It broke the skin, and I have a slight headache from it. I am only out there for 15 minutes. I'm taking a break already. My back is not cooperating today. I have 2 more piles of pickets to break, I hope I can continue after resting for a while.
I finished breaking all the fencing pickets, I wound up with three full barrels of pickets for Tuesday's garbage pickup up. I found under the piles of pickets, some wire mesh fencing nailed into 2x4 board. It was put up to block holes in the stockade fence so the dogs couldn't get out. There are vines running through it. I'll have to figure out how to roll this up for garbage pickup. I'm thinking of saving this for next Friday's pick up. I think I'm done with that kind of work for today. It does feel really good when you can check something off your "to do list".
I keep my phone with me. I must tell you this story. Right before we had the house fire, I decided to attempt and mow the front lawn, usually my daughter or my son in law did the mowing. The mower is a self-propelled walk behind type. There are no curbs on my front lawn, except for one 3' location. I've always let the wheels of the mower roll on top of the curb. This time I missed the curb and the mower went over, and I fell and rolled into the street. An oncoming car stop, a nice young man jumped out of the car, wave traffic around his car then help me get up. Fortunately the mower shuts off as soon as you release the engage arm. I couldn't thank him enough. I wasn't going to, but I did tell my wife and daughter what happened. They were really mad "we told you 100x not to mow, we'll take care of it." I know they say you're only young once, I say you're only old once and that's enough.
