From today's "One Minute With God" Calendar: 09/29/24 Discipline lasts for a short season; shorter if you're a fast learner. The freedom and joy of maturity will last forever. "Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in unchanging love." Micah 7:18
From today's "One Minute With God" Calendar: 10/25/24 We live in a world that will disappear. But that's not a threat; it's a promise! "Here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come." Hebrews 13:14
From yesterday's "One Minute With God" Calendar: 10/26/24 What if your joy ran so deep that you just couldn't help brightening any room you entered? "It is You who blesses the righteous man, O Lord You surround him with favor as with a shield." Psalm 5:12
From today's "One Minute With God" Calendar: 10/27/24 When it's His plan and you're willing, you simply cannot fail. "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
From today's "One Minute With God" Calendar: 10/30/24 We've all needed the precise and life-saving help of the holy Healer. "The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in Truth."
From today's "One Minute With God" Calendar: 10/31/24 The crown of life comes to those who simply don't give up. "Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him." James 1:12
From today's "One Minute With God" Calendar: 11/05/24 Even if we haven't seen a particular miracle in our own lives before, we can be sure God can do it. "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23

From today's "One Minute With God" Calendar: 11/08/24 There is One who is always working on your behalf. You may not see what He's up to, but you can know He's in your favor. "Thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel, "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!" Isaiah 43:1
From today's "One Minute With God" Calendar: 11/10/24 The Lord invites us to come see things from His point of view. All we need to do is ask. "Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God." Colossians 3:1
I appreciate you being here Joe, and the scriptures you post. I'm really battling with my anxiety, and buying into rumors and lies. I so want to enjoy the blessing God has givin my country, but I'm afraid to look at certain things online because I see the Right doing the same things as the Left. Maybe you'll say a prayer for me today, and I am going to listen to a sermon this am., but I don't feel well enough to go out this a.m. My pastor is wonderful to listen too, God has chosen him to be a pastor, I've heard so many that are not chosen, and I can tell the difference. I guess I just needed to talk to someone. I'm glad you are here, and you were here when I first came to SOC, God bless you and your wife/family today, denise, a sister in Christ
Hoping that you get to feeling better soon, @Denise Evans ! I hate having those ”down” days, and try to always look for happy things to read and do, as much as possible, and avoid watching the negative stuff. Way back when, we had that computer slogan, “GIGO” (garbage in, garbage out) for computer programming. And it seems to work really well for people, too. We know that if we put garbage food in our body, they are going to be miserable and not work right, and so we try to eat as healthy as possible. It seems like (to me, anyway) that this works for my mind as well. When I read or watch trash, then my mind frets and I am miserable. I do not like being miserable ! So, my way of dealing with that is to try and avoid as much of that kind of mental input as possible. Listening to a good sermon is often a really good way to cheer yourself back up again, so I think you have found an excellent way to deal with the depression .
From today's "One Minute With God" Calendar: 11/13/24 Being still and quiet in nature is a powerful way to see God at work. "The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge." Psalm 19:1-2
