Trump has to apy attention to who he picks from Congress, however. He doesn't want to endanger the margins he has in Congress now.
I agree!! I am excited about her. She sounds tough but fair and hopefully, can tone down Trump's rhetoric a bit. I thought I heard her called Ice Queen? I think Trump called her ice baby? I loved her insistence of no more clown cars..i.e. people coming into the Oval Office 'willy-nilly'
Interesting. https://nypost.com/2024/11/09/us-ne...ompeo-will-not-be-in-his-next-administration/ Trump announces former WH officials Nikki Haley, Mike Pompeo will not be in his next administration
Trump announces Tom Homan as “Border Czar,” overseeing U.S. border security and deportations. Homan was a Border Patrol agent, investigator, and supervisor before being appointed by President Barack Obama to Executive Associate Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in 2013, and acting ICE Director during Trump's first administration. Here are examples of his style when Congress critters suddenly found their immigrant compassion after Obama was out of office:
Kennedy's MAHA site has a place for We, The People to recommend nominees for key agency positions. The categories are: America's Health Economy Education Energy and Infrastructure Environmental and Natural Resources Food and Agriculture Government Efficiency Housing Labor Peace Abroad (State, Defense, Intelligence) Peace at Home (Justice, Security and Immigration) Technology Dr. Peter McCullough is on the list of folks who should be a key part of the administration.
On the campaign trail, Trump said he wanted to dismantle the Department of Education and let the states decide what they want to do. In my book, to do so would decrease the amount of power the Teacher’s union holds, give more power back to the parents and also increase a state’s ability to designate whatever priorities each state deems more educationally profitable. In short, that’s one less area the newly elected President has to worry about.
Communism can only take hold when they own the education system. Even if one does not believe that's what's going on, the Fed has no Constitutional authority to be involved in education...it's a power reserved for the states. I don't (but should) know the process involved for creating a brand new Federal agency. I know Reagan tried to dismantle the DOE and failed, but I do not know exactly what prevented him from doing so. We did fine without it for the first 200 years of this nation, then performance took a nose-dive.
Trump has nominated House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. I'm not sure what that means. I don't know what the process is for making a position "Cabinet-level," or for downgrading it. I also don't know what difference it makes. As an aside, Stefanik was first elected from New York’s 21st Congressional District in 2014 at the age of 30, becoming then the youngest woman elected to Congress. So there's another diversity first for the GOP that never gets reported.
I like Nikki and am sorry to see Trump dismiss her. I think she could have been an asset in going forward. Her response to Trump saying she would not be named was very gracious!
That is the post that Nikki Haley held. It would be one Representative out of a narrow majority held by the Republicans. It might do him more harm than good there unless he wants her out of the legislature for some reason.
Nikki is a pretty gutsy lady. When she was the Ambassador to the United Nations, it was also her job to announce that we were pulling out of the Paris (climate change) Accord. She did well.and stuck to her guns on many occasions but the Ambassador is supposed to be the voice of the President and I believe she went a little rogue at times which didn’t sit well with Trump.
