Just a tip: If you freeze ground coffee or any other "dry" item, do it in small packages and thaw them before you open them and use them soon. As @Beth Gallagher said, opening a frozen item invites moisture. This is also true if you freeze seeds.

It just occurred to me that the dock strike could affect the coffee supply and of course drive prices through the roof. I placed an order for a hoard from Amazon while the gettin's good.

For the time being, that strike is on hold until January.

I cannot post several things because they are too large for an extension.

It is not anything specific to do with you, @Lois Winters . It is problems with the forum servers again. Ken is working with them to get things working properly, but until they do that, none of us can upload pictures here. Look for updates in the Downtime thread, when Ken has any news to report.

    Walmart is strange sometimes.
Bobby loves his McCafe Columbian coffee, so that is what i buy for him. for quite a while , it has been about $12 a can, although I think it was only about $10 when I first started buying it and he liked it.
Anyway, now, the price has jumped up to almost $15 for the 30 oz can of coffee.
Then, i discovered that Walmart has a 3-pack option for $16+, and I thought “that’’s crazy !”, but I tried ordering it, and , sure enough, along came the delivery guy with my 3 cans of coffee.

I tried ordering it again after i found they would actually deliver that, but then it kept saying out of stock, and the other 3-packs are now about $42 . However, today, it was listed again, so I ordered it again, and they just came and brought it.
It is exactly the same coffee as they are selling for $15 for the single can, (same size) so I am sure that someone somewhere has made a bad mistake, but if Walmart is going to keep selling the coffee for that price, I am going to stock up.

I'm still drinking Folgers dark roast; Jake is drinking instant Folgers.
    Yvonne, what do you like?

I prefer a light roast coffee because it has more of the good anti-oxidants in it. I was drinking the McCafe Breakfast blend, which is a light roast, but the price on that has gone up also, so right now, I have Maxwell house light roast, which is $9 instead of $14. Now, I found that Hills Brothers is even cheaper, so I am going to try their light blend next time.

By the time I add my mushroom powder and acacia (kidney restore) and maybe some raw cocoa, it doesn’t really matter to me which coffee I started with, as long as it is the light roast that is so important for health, because the coffee flavor is all mixed in with the supplements I add to it.
So, whatever is cheapest works for me.
Bobby does not add any supplements to his coffee, so he needs one that he likes the flavor of, and mine is basically a way to get my morning supplements.

So the light roast has more anti-oxidant's? What kind of mushroom do you use? I use plain Hersheys Dark 100% Cacao, non GMO, over vanilla ice cream and thinking about putting it in my coffee. Plenty of sugar in ice cream so you can't tell the difference using plain cacao.
    What do you think?

We have stopped eating any kind of commercial ice cream because the ingredients are mostly sugar and chemicals.
INGREDIENTS: MILKFAT AND NONFAT MILK, SWEET CREAM BUTTERMILK, LIQUID SUGAR (SUGAR, WATER), CORN SYRUP, WHEY, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF MONO- AND DIGLYCERIDES, NATURAL FLAVORS, GUAR GUM, CALCIUM SULFATE, CAROB BEAN GUM,
    CARRAGEENAN, ANNATTO EXTRACT (COLOR).

We now make our own ice cream with the Ninja Creami, and I use cottage cheese, whole milk (or kefir or yogurt), sugar free pudding mix for thickener, whey protein for extra vitamins and protein, and fresh fruits (strawberry, banana, etc) for flavoring. One of our favorite is chocolate peanut butter (Reeses) made with raw cocoa powder and peanut butter powder. That is it. Mix in blender, freeze overnight, and the Ninja turns it into creamy ice cream.
It is all natural, no added sugars, and pretty much low carb and high protein. And SO simple with the Ninja !

For mushroom powder, I use Cordyceps for my kidneys and liver, plus a 10-in-1 mixture that has a variety of mushrooms for health and mental alertness.
I get the Yupik natural cocoa from amazon, and I get the mushroom powder from there, too. I can give you name brands if you are interested in mushroom supplementation, but Amazon has an excellent variety to choose from. You do not even taste the mushroom, especially with the cocoa added.
This is the mixed one, only takes less than 1/4 tsp in coffee.

Sounds like a great alternative, will check on the Ninja machine soon as we can spend the money.
Will order the mushroom powder soon. Also check out the cacao, see if it is better than Hersheys. Thanks again Yvonne.

Here is my thread about the Ninja Creami, and there are plenty of YT videos with information and ideas for healthy ice cream, both low carb/keto and regular ice cream. Now is a good time to buy one because of all the sales this month.
We got ours at Sam’s Club, but I am sure that most of the stores will have sales between now and Christmas.
I have had regular ice cream makers before, but the Ninja one just makes everything so simple to use. A lot of people who love ice cream but want to eat healthy food are getting the Ninja Creami’s and putting their favorite recipes online.
