I bet he discovered an all-natural bit cleaner in the process, too.

Mr. Bobby is such a good husband, and every day, he eats whatever ice cream experiment I have made and never grumbles about having his home-made ice cream. (Chuckle)
    Today, we had banana splits.
I had some frozen mango, so I used that and some fresh banana and made banana-mango ice cream. Then, I added some banana slices, a little strawberry jam, and topped it with chocolate syrup, and it made a really good banana split.

Besides finding Ninja Creami recipes on youtube, I also just experiment with what sounds good to me, and so far, we have enjoyed all of them. I think that the “Reese’s” is probably our favorite, with peanut butter powder and mini chocolate chips and a dab of caramel and/or chocolate syrup on top. But the chocolate malt was really good, too.

I am thinking that I want to try making sour cream raisin, which I have only had as a pie, but I loved it, and think it would make an awesome ice cream. I might make that with yogurt and some cream cheese instead of using cottage cheese.
I do not know how I have lived my life without this wonderful machine !

The weather is starting to get cooler, even in the daytime, so once winter gets here, we probably won’t want ice cream every day, but we sure love haing it whenever we want to.
Today, I am going to make some butterscotch ice cream with the DaVinci Irish Cream flavoring, and use yogurt instead of the blended cottage cheese. We really loved the one with rum flavoring and raisins soaked overnight in it. It was like sour cream raisin pie ice cream.

I think that this is one of the best gadgets we have ever had, perfect for someone like us who wants to have healthy protein shakes and also want to have ice cream treats often. It works with a low carb diet as long as you make it with sugar-free ingredients, so it would be perfect for people who are diabetic and have to watch their sugars.

This Ninja Creami is something that i think you would really like, @Marie Mallery , because you have the diabetes and have to always be watching your blood sugar. I know you have said how much you love ice cream, but when you eat ice cream or other heavy-sweet foods, then you exercise to use up the extra sugar in your blood..

With the Ninja, you can easily make ice cream and not use any extra sugar ! Many people who are on low-carb and keto eating plans are using the Creami, and YT has lots and lots of good recipes.
It is like making a low carb, high-protein smoothie, and then you freeze the smoothie and the ninja Creami turns it into delicious, creamy ice cream tasting food.
I make ours with protein powder, milk or yogurt, cottage cheese, some sugar-free pudding mix, and whatever flavoring we want to try out. We have made all sorts of delicious ice cream this way, and are getting healthy foods instead of sugar and chemical ice cream.

It is simple to use, just mix up your protein drink and freeze it in the ninja container overnight. The next day, you put it in the ninja, and in 3-4 minutes, you can be eating ice cream.

Thanks Yvonne, I'll sure try that, I still lift weights but it is getting too hard and boring. I drink lots of water too. But I'm very skinny. I only weigh 104lb.s now.

Yvonne I'm not much with cooking like I use to be. I don't like being inside that anymore. I do keep the house clean and cook most of the time Jake likes to bake ,he made some good cookies yesterday. I didn't eat but one not [ worth the workout it cost me].
But I'd like to try some of your recipes one day.

Making ice cream doe not have to entail any kind of cooking, @Marie Mallery , unless you want to make traditional ice cream where you are making a custard and then freezing it into ice cream. With the ninja, you can make ice cream type of foods just by making a protein shake and freezing it.
We always buy the protein powder because Bobby uses it a lot, and it is perfect for what we are doing with the ninja.

A lot of people who are body builders, or just on a special kind of diet where they want to supplement protein and avoid sugars use the ninja this way. The extra whey protein and cottage cheese protein would probably help you to build up your muscles again, too.

I use cottage cheese, add a scoop of protein powder, and some milk, yogurt, or kefir, and put it in the blender. We really like chocolate peanut butter, and for that we also add some plain cocoa powder and some peanut butter powder, and I add some sweetening like Splenda or allulose, which does not add sugars to the shake.

You can add fruits like strawberry, blueberry, bananas, or whatever fruit you like, and have flavored ice cream. You can even make fruit sherbet by just putting in ca can of fruit (like peaches) with some of the fruit juice, and blending that and then freezing it, and then the ninja turns it into a creamy sherbet.
We have not tried that yet, but probably will want to do that next summer when it is hot outside again.

This time, I am going to try a “banana split” ice cream. I got a can of crushed pineapple in natural juice, and will add a banana to that and the cottage cheese/protein powder/milk mixture and freeze that. Once it is ice cream, we can add a dab of strawberry jam or fresh strawberries, and maybe a little chocolate syrup, to make it like a real banana split.

Pretty easy to make just about any flavor you can imagine once you have the ninja creami machine to turn it into ice cream, and it takes only a few minutes with the blender to buzz it all up and then let it freeze overnight.
Each container makes a pint of ice cream, so when I make a quart of protein drink mix, we have enough for two ice creams, one for each of us.

Now that the weather is getting colder, we are not having ice cream as often, but still, I make ice cream several times each week usually.
Today, we had the last of the chocolate peanut butter (Reeses ) ice cream, made with cottage cheese, peanut butter powder, chocolate whey protein, pudding mix, and fresh yogurt.
We had two bananas that need used up soon, so I made some strawberry banana ice cream for tomorrow, or whenever we feel like ice cream again. When we were at the doctor visit, we were telling her about how easy it is to make healthy desserts with the Ninja Creami, and that it is nice to be able to enjoy ice cream and know it is not made with all of the bad colorings and chemicals that are in commercial ice cream.

    @Yvonne Smith
What brand of olive oil do you use or recommend, right now I'm using Pompeian Non'GMO but it is really greasy in stir fry. Is that normal for olive oil? I don't remember it being so greasy.
Coconut oil is too expensive right now.

I am not sure what you are asking, @Marie Mallery . I do not use any kind of oil when I am making ice cream in the Ninja Creami. I do use olive oil for salads and cooking and I get it from Sam’s Club.
Up here, coconut oil is cheaper than olive oil, and I use either one for cooking, but in winter the coconut oil hardens, so it is faster to pour in some olive oil.
But again, I do not use ANY kind of oil when I am making ice cream, just cottage cheese, milk/yogurt/kefir, and whatever I put in to flavor it. No eggs, no oil, no sugar.

Sorry I wasn't clearer, I'm cooking stir fry with olive oil, and it seems to be more oily than before, thought you'd know any positive or negatives on the oil.
