Just got word that one of my wife's closest friends passed. They lived on the same street growing up and were friends since my wife was 7 years old. She now resided in Clearwater, Florida. We only saw her every few years when she came back to Long Island to visit friends and relatives.I've known her for over 60 years. She was such a strong-willed person that you felt she would live forever. I could see my wife is bothered by this it hit her like a thunderbolt.
Waiting for the workers to return to finish the shed it's overcast, hope it doesn't rain.
My daughter is home from work she's going to take my granddaughter to the doctor she's having some medical issues. She's been complaining about pains in her feet and her thumb. Maybe growing pains? Since last night, she's also had rosey cheeks, which my daughter said could be fifth disease? I never heard of it. We'll see.

Give your wife our condolences, I too lost a lifetime friend this year and last year one I knew for over 50 years.
Sad, we seniors have so many things to deal with on top of our illnesses and energy.

I am sorry for the sad news for your wife, too, @Tony Page . I have also lost people who were close to me like family, and it is hard, especially when it happens suddenly and unexpectedly.
I have never heard of anything called fifth disease either.

Sorry about your wife's friend, Tony. As we get older we lose people who were significant in our lives. I found out a few months ago that the guy who was best man at my first wedding had died at age 56... he has been dead many years now and I had no idea. It still stung to learn that he had died.

My youngest son had 5th disease as a toddler. I remember asking the pediatrician why such a strange name for a childhood illness; of course he had no idea. 5th disease is not serious and has mild symptoms, but the rash on little cheeks can be noticeable.

I'm not sure I'm spelling it right, but my daughter and granddaughter are back from the doctor and she Has it. It's very contagious but she's at a stage where there is no contagion. It's a virus. You get rosey cheeks like you were out in the cold.

Fifth disease's name comes from its numerical position after the top four childhood rash-causing diseases. The first four include measles, scarlet fever, rubella, and Duke's disease. Erythema infectiosum (fifth disease, or Parvovirus B19) is the only virus within the Parvoviridae family to cause disease in humans, especially in children. The most common disease derived from parvovirus B19 is fifth disease.

As with all respiratory pathogens once presumed to transmit via respiratory droplets, it is highly likely to be carried by the aerosols generated during routine breathing, talking, and even singing. Although fifth disease primarily occurs in children and will typically resolve on its own, similar to the cold, vulnerable populations such as those who are immunocompromised, pregnant, or people with anemia are more at risk of developing complications from the disease due to their bodies compromised state making it harder for the body to fight off the virus.

I have never heard of it. But I've never heard of Duke's disease, either.

The shed is completely installed and looks good. Two of the workers are cousins and do side work. I like there Workmanship and knowledge of construction. They showed me photos of some of there recent jobs, impressive. I hired them to paint and caulk the shed and build a ramp for it. If I'm satisfied with the results, I will hire them for other work.
I was surprised last night to see some towns already have Christmas decorations on the street poles. It's not Thanksgiving yet!!!

I was going to put mine up today to avoid bad weather.
Too late, I was just closing up the barn for winter and it started to blow and snow. Hopefully there will be a lull between now and Thanksgiving.
