Maybe just make it something simple to start with, and once you have gotten through the registration, you can change it to something else you like better ? Most of the people I see on there have what looks like a regular name. You can even be John Brunner on there, most likely. And then just do the @whatever for the rest of it. There are probably at least 200 people named Elon Musk on there, and they all write it a little different on the part with the @ sign. I think that if you can look at X on your laptop, you can maybe see how the names work better, since I can’t put a screenshot here. That's a good idea about using a simple name. I wonder if the problem with the name I chose is that it's already taken.
Well that's a bummer. You tried this today right, the last time you tried I mean? I have to go through my instructions sometimes 2 or 3 times. You may not have that issues, but I always seem to find some teenie direction I missed like putting in some "wrong" character. I don't remember for sure, but I don't think I put in the @ sign either. I think X does that, or it was Twitter when I first joined. They put that in so others can "flag" you in their posts, kind of like here if you type in a person's name like @John Brunner . They put in my full-name I believe, because they take it from my sign up info. Mine looks like this: Denise Evans @G0ldengirl1952 If I'd known, I would have used another name, probably just Goldengirl52 or something for sign-up, but real email addy.
I believe you can not change the @G0ldengirl1952 but you CAN change your name. Just go to your profile.
I'll be finding out as soon as my profile is all approved. It's taking them awhile because it's swamped. Elon's team will keep making improvements I'm sure. Well he's got his hands full, and so does his team John so I cut them some slack. I look at what all Elon is doing besides over-seeing X. It is difficult to navigate, I agree, but the more I fiddle with it the more I learn. It's also aggravating when people that are supposedly Right-wing, sound so much like the Left, or "the others" but then I have to look at some of the things I say as well, and have to eat crow, which is not my fave dish
