I've seen that mindset in some people. I think they are so desperate for peace of mind, they'll work very hard to convince themselves they're doing the right thing. They are often the same people who say, "Anybody who doesn't do what I do is crazy."
Also interesting: I know several people who initially said, "I'll never get that vaccine." But after they were forced to by their employer or they were planning to travel, they said, "Anybody who doesn't get the vaccine is crazy."
My sister said, "Hell no; I'm not going near that vaccine." But after her son said, "you can't babysit my kids unless you're vaccinated," she got it. Then she told me, "Oh yeah....the vaccine protects." :D

Although I hope so, I wouldn't be too sure about that. Trump practically let Dr. Fauci sit in for him during the last few months of his first term and he just appointed a vaccine enthusiast Surgeon General. His pick for that position argued that not only were the vaccines, masks, and social distancing effective against COVID-19 but they resulted in a huge drop in the number of flu deaths, as well, completely oblivious to or ignoring the fact that influenza deaths were simply being recorded as COVID-19 deaths.

But, as far as I know, Trump was always against mandated vaccinations. You are right, however, as far as some of his appointments are disquieting.

Are you saying that people like me who get the flu shot and pneumonia shots are mad? I got my flu shot back in October and got an updated pneumonia shot last Tuesday.

I'm cautiously optimistic on that front.

Until COVID-19, I wasn't anti-vaccine. If I had any reason to believe that I had chickenpox as a child, I would have probably gotten the shingles vaccine, and I wasn't opposed to the flu vaccines until I got one and was sick for a couple of weeks and later learned how ineffective they are. Still, the idea of a vaccine isn't bad, although I no longer trust the implementation and actual motivations behind them. When my cats were allowed to go outdoors, a couple of vaccines made sense, although I was always conscious of the dangers of hitting them with a bunch of vaccines all at once while they were tiny kittens. However, the risks far outweigh the possible benefits for indoor cats. If my cat isn't interacting with any other cats that a veterinarian hasn't first cleared, it doesn't make sense to pump them full of vaccines. Yes, there is an unlikely chance of an infected mouse getting into the house, so the risks aren't zero, given that mice do occasionally find their way into the house, but the risks of the vaccines are greater, IMO.

Thank you, I think the silicone spray is what I was looking for. I have many creative ways of keeping doors shut. But this one being frozen just now was kind of a surprise. I just wonder if someone does not close it right if a stiff wind would find silicone helpful in getting it open. I actually have silicone here.:)
I always feel bad for the critters when the cold weather starts as there are limited things I can do for them with my set up and sometimes they don't even use the extra shelter I make for them inside.
    Wrong color, maybe.o_O

@Shirley Martin we have had this conversation already. No matter what anyone's opinion is, it does not point to madness. If we wanted the shots, we should be allowed to get them but not be MANDATED to get them.
There are still those who would force vaccine behavior. That is madness.
If the vaccines worked, you would be protected if you got them. And you would not need to fear the others who did not get them. We could all be happy.
