I hear Desantis may be in Trumps cabinet and Eric's wife Laura from N.C. can run for Florida Governor. Just a rumor so who knows.
I don't know why DeSantis would want to be in the cabinet since he still has time in his governorship and that would probably be more beneficial for a Presidential run in 2028. The Senate seat seems to be better for him since he could keep it after 2028 if he didn't win the Presidency.
DeSantis has done a great job in Florida, as far as I am aware, yet I still have reservations about him at a national level. I still think he's a neocon at heart. At any rate, I think Hegseth would be a better choice for Secretary of Defense.
