I have not heard of that breed. She's pretty but I thought she had a bit of pit bull in her from the shape of her head.
That's true Beth, wasn't thinking about the storms, it's just everything like groceries etc. was thinking only of the last four years of mistakes, by our leaders. Mama was always telling me, and yes this year went by fast to me.
Oh, I'm certain that the rate of inflation (thanks, Joe!) also affects building materials. Then the storm on top of that didn't help any. Everything is so expensive these days.
Seems like there is a group of people who rule over the world, that want America to fall. By 5pm tomorrow we will have a neutered male and 1 yr old female from shelter to deal with, plus energetic Foxy and Getty. I don't know but right now we're so busy with animals and work, don't think about it much. I want to change the name of Maize who is coming here tomorrow. Why all the food names for dogs now? Spaghetti and Corn Jake will have his hands full with 300' of new fencing coming in Wednesday, which of course I'll be helping him some plus training these dogs will be my job. Fence will likely be put off till next week. Leo is getting worse about jumping on these females so looking more forward to his neutering every minute.
Those are odd names. Maybe you can pronounce Maize as "Maisie" instead...? And Getty does sound better than pasta, lol.
If these are just names that the pound gave to the dogs, they probably have no clue that this name means it is them you are talking to. When I first got Poodle, he had no idea that “Huey” meant him, and ignored it when I said the word. I hated that name, but didn’t know what else I wanted to name him, so we just called him “Poodle” while I was trying to find a name that fit his personality. While we were doing that, he learned that the Poodle word meant him, and he started listening when I said that word; so then I didn’t want to give him a different name to learn . We just named him “Poodle”, and then he started listening for his name, and eventually, listening for other words to learn. After he slipped out the front gate and off the porch and went exploring down the street, and we had to hunt him down and catch him, I realized that he was a definite explorer, so I amended his name to “Marco Poodle”; but he still goes by Poodle. So, if you choose other names for your new dogs, they will soon learn those names, and start listening for you to say the new names, @Marie Mallery .
Yvonne, Getty knows her name really well, she comes to Spaghetti so I shortened it. She had a home as inside dog and they sis teach her to stay, I just taught her to sit a couple days ago. She kept running away so they told the shelter to " just keep her" they she is two and a half years old has a chip.
Maisie sounds better than Maize, we are still deciding a name I'll see what Jakes thinks of Maisie. Beth it sure does sound better than pasta.
That is true. Years ago a friend gave us a little Yorkie that they called "Little Bit." Well, that's not a name; it's an amount... so I called him Spike. (Mostly a joke because he weighed 5 pounds soaking wet, but the kids liked it so it stuck.) He was about 4 months old but it didn't take long at all for him to learn his new name.
Another day gone by;but stayed "busy", all day; maybe that's why it went so fast. We got the house vacuumed, and mopped, the porch vacuumed with little Roomba, and bathe Foxy, Leo tomorrow, since the pound changed his fix day, to Wed.. Marie cut more vines off where we were putting up a new fence, and took her walk. Funny how it's hard to remember everything that gets done, after it's all done.
Things got really busy last couple days preparing for new dogs and walking off 350' fence line. We bought 5' cattle aka field fence which is the cheapest fencing you can buy. Fence is supposed to be here next Wednesday. I cut vines and small trees and tree limbs for fence. We will also lay down 4' cattle fence so dogs can't dig out, Hard work to begin with but last a lifetime.
Beth we named her Maisie, or Mazzy or Massey, but either way we decide to spell it your right, make use of the first one.
Been too busy around here lately, to feel like posting; and too many things done to even think about posting, all of them. As always it has not slowed down at all. Did Have Leo fix and so far he's doing good, took his second antibiotic at supper, and finally started drinking some water, after day two. Did some more grading on the new trail today, getting smoother each time. I've heard that it says in the bible somewhere, to work with all your might; because there will be plenty of rest in the "grave". Not saying it's written that way, just something I've heard before, by Marie, "I think". Hope this post makes some sense, just winging it; so to speak. "Maisie", our new dog. She is so fast; she has to be some grey hound in her; she can fly. If she ever get lose, we will never catch her, none of my dogs can either.
Another day gone, and keeping busy still, training these new pets to mind. This morning while having our first cup coffee, at bay windows, about five deer walked into back yard, since I've been clearing vines out the back yard, I've taken down some of fence back there, so they just walked right in, and Marie said; oh look at the deer, oh boy that's a big one there. The doe that's been here with her two little ones, has adopted another one, because now it's three of them. Leo is still doing fine; acts a little different; but loving being inside with his sister Foxy, makes me really happy, because I wasn't sure about having him fixed; after he had died before we adopted him, and our vet Dr. Don told us, he gave him a full blood transfusion which brought him back. Scared me and Marie to do it, because of that, but I said a prayer and took the chance, before he got too old. I wanted to do more things than I accomplished today, but always tomorrow.
