What Hedi Mitchell is saying, is that it does not do much good to respond to posts when the person has not been on the forum for months, and sometimes only posted 1-2 posts and then left the forum, never to return. If you look at the avatar profile, it shows when a person joined and how many messages they posted. If you click on the profile, it shows the last time they were seen on the forum. So, you can see that someone might have signed up, made a post or two, and then never came back online again, and are not going to ever see that someone has responded to their posts. Also, this often starts other people coming along and saying hello, because they didn’t look at the timeline either, so the whole thing becomes ridiculous in the extreme.
I did that on "the other forum." They were tolerant and welcoming...just in a prior life. Dunno why people do it here. Could be lots of life reasons.
