Of all the states where changing the clock may have an "extra hour of daylight" benefit, Alaska falls to the bottom of that list. I gotta think changing the clocks there is the subject of a few jokes.
I have my digital clock on my stove set for 'chicken time' (not changing). The shortened daylight in the winter is enough stress on them. Of course it does get confusing for some humans. But not that much when you consider it stays at 3:50 lots of times when I am using the oven. But it shows that we are flexible here and can adapt to whatever.
I'd rather keep it the way it is now, than go on Standard Time. Unless they change business hours from 7am to 4pm in the summer.
We love time change that happens in March, much, much more than becoming dark, like it's midnight, at 5PM in November.
I would also rather have DST year around, and it seems like most people prefer that, too; but some of them seem to not know which is which. Trump has said he would keep it on Standard time, but a lot of people on X are saying they want it to have longer daylight in the afternoon and seem to think that ST is how they are going to get that. As far as Alaska, I can see that DST is maybe not the best up there because they have lots of daylight all summer, so maybe it should be optional, which is how it is now. I think that only a few states do not change in the spring , and Arizona is the only one that I remember reading about that stas on ST year around.
Yeah, like I said before. I am waiting for someone to "save" an hour or two of daylight in June and move it to December. Then I would vote for it. Just changing the clock is stupid.
It should be one or the other all year round. Changing clocks screws up everyone's sleep. Being retired, I prefer standard time. I don't need outside neighbor noise when it's a geezer's bedtime.
I agree. It is hard to adjust to the time change every time, even though we are not working and don’t usually have to be anywhere at all specified time. The sun goes down when it does anyway, regardless if we call it 7 pm or 8pm, so we would just get used to whichever time and be fine with it.
About the only thing Trump can do is get us stirr3ed up enough to contact our Congress Critters. They are likely to throw us this highly-visible-yet-inconsequential crumb.
I hope Trump can accomplish this as it's been thrown about for many years.....and it continues to confuse the world
