You're right, it does look like a work of art. Would be a great wall painting.

@Cody Fousnaugh, have you noticed that cops are looking more and more like gang members these days? Even locally, I am seeing cops with full-arm tattoos, in particular, and have even come across some of them on various cop videos on Youtube with facial tattoos, as well. I've even seen some female cops all tatted up like they were planning a drive-by. So far, no tear-drop tattoos, but I'm sure that's coming. What do you think about that? Are cops beginning to feel like they are members of a gang, or are police departments doing more of their recruiting from within the street gangs?

Years ago Atlanta recruited from the ranks of felons. There are regions today that are recruiting from the ranks of illegals. I would imagine that those two groups have an above average rate of being inked.

    https://people.com/tattoos-increase-risk-of-developing-lymphoma-by-21-new-study-finds-8654298

A study — published May 21 in eClinicalMedicine — found that the risk of developing lymphoma was 21% higher among those who were tattooed. The risk of lymphoma was also highest in individuals who had their first tattoo less than two years prior.

"We already know that when the tattoo ink is injected into the skin, the body interprets this as something foreign that should not be there and the immune system is activated," she continued. "A large part of the ink is transported away from the skin, to the lymph nodes where it is deposited."

The inks contain heavy metals among other things - particularly the colors (red, blue, etc.) It's also why getting tattoos removed can cause even more problems. The breaking up of the ink can cause the particulates to migrate to the bloodstream (assuming they haven't already.)

I don't believe it. I have tattoos, but I don't have lymphoma, so that is clearly a faulty study.

There's lots of people casting aspersions on another forum. One guy claims to have recently heard a story of a woman with lymphoma that was traced to a 2" wide tattoo that had infected the nearby lymph node, turning it black. I have no idea what the source of that story is.

If it's a story that's fabricated to modify behaviour, one might wonder what the motive is. It seems that it should be an easy enough thing to prove (or to disprove.)

I don't know how they could prove a specific tattoo caused lymphoma.

For some reason, my lower legs have started seeping out lymph fluid, and I do not know why. After reading the post about a tattoo causing and infection near a lymph node, I am now wondering if the cat scratches could be doing the same thing ?
The kitten just launches herself up our legs when she wants on our lap, and she climbs right up with her sharp little claws. She also goes into Kitten Attack Mode, and bites and claws my legs and feet.

I have had cats all my life, and never had any kind of infection from being clawed; but now that I have more leg and feet edema from the heart failure, it is maybe possible that there could be an infection and I do not know it. Everything feels okay, but my leg leaks into my sock.

Yvonne--you probably know this already, but people with lymphedema are extremely prone to cellulitis, which can be deadly. Please don't let the kitten break your skin while your legs are swollen.

I with Beth on this one, Yvonne I too had cats all my life but about 40 years ago a kitten gave me a very bad infection aka Cat Scratch Fever. Dr was very upset that I let them scratch me.he said it can be very dangerous.
Also I would never ever just have one kitten, they have to have a playmate and if no other cat then it us. If we had of kept Sheba I'd got another kitten to play with her from shelter.
Be careful and see a doctor before that possibly becomes infected.

I was working on this when @marie posted her post

    There is also this

    link

Also be careful of cat bites, as they can be deadly. I saw one woman here who nearly died from being bitten by her pet cat. She went to a walk-in clinic, and was treated, but ended up in the ER a week later and nearly lost her arm to the infection. The clinic had cleaned the wound and given the woman a broad-spectrum antibiotic to which the bacteria was resistant.

Yvonne, you should go have that checked; this coming from the, "worst", I'm not going to a hospital person. And to stop that from happening again with the kitten; get a water spray bottle, and when the kitten comes at you, squirt it and say ,"NO". You will be surprised how fast it works, even if our dogs are doing something wrong, it stops them quickly.

Shortly after spraying the animal a few times; all you have to do is show them the bottle, and they will stop instantly. :)

Bubba makes me bleed at least once a week. So far, no problems, and it's all in fun. However, the damage heals quickly and without adverse effects. He generally only does that when I initiate the play-fighting, though.

Well maybe you built up an immunity to it. Also the kitten who gave me CSF was an orphan and sickly, but some healthy cats can carry it. Cat-man-do cats are good for you, I'm corny? but another song.,
