It's freezing at 9 degrees. It has been steady since I woke up this morning even with the sun shining.
Don, it got down to 27 last night, but locals say if its 27 in town its a lot lower here in rural areas, so maybe lower.
We are still expecting snow over night , and it always closes everything down because the South has no snow equipment to speak of, and Southern drivers have no experience driving on slick roads. Some of them know this and some seem to not care and try to drive anyway. It is almost always a disaster when we get any snow here at all. They are expecting several inches by morning, but you never know until it actually happens.
The roads here are clear but the grassy areas still have several inches on them. It's windy and cold, and my neighbors claim we're gonna see another 4" tomorrow. I'm seeing everything from fractions of an inch to 2".
It's snowing this morning and it is supposed to continue all day; expecting 4-7 inches of snow. I am hoping it is not a wet snow as it would accumulate on the already heavily iced tree limbs and power lines. Tis' 28 degrees.
Got down to 11°F last night. Thank goodness for wood stoves. Still calling for 0.5"-2.5" of dry, powdery snow late tonight and into early tomorrow AM.
Didn't check the weather forecast yesterday. Big surprise to wake up to about 2" of snow cover. It hasn't snowed here for the last 2 years. In person classes at the university and all schools are closed in the county, plus all schools in the neighboring counties except to the south. High temp today 32, low tonight 29. Should be gone by tomorrow.
Expecting more snow sometime today. It's 14 degrees. Yesterday was at 9 degrees til I fell asleep around midnight.
