Adding my prayers for God’s comfort to you and your family as you all grieve the loss of your beloved little Mini. It is heartbreaking when we lose them, and especially when it is unexpected like this was.

With recent events, I've been thinking a lot about death.

Like a lot of people, I don't fear death as much as how I die. How often I heard or read, I can't die now I'm too busy. Well, that's a choice we don't have. I don't think finishing painting the house or cleaning the oven is going to matter in the next life.

I often wondered if we feared birth as much as death. Did we want to leave the comfort of the womb?

If death happens in a split second, do we think "wait I didn't say goodbye." Maybe we should leave something behind that will let our loved ones know how much we cared?

It also makes me think we have to appreciate our family and friends as much as we can when our paths cross. Maybe we have to take a deeper interest there may be some surprises there.

With a million thoughts going through my head right now, I will leave it at that.

I think that this is something that all of us think about when we are seniors, and especially if we have health issues. I would like to say goodbye to my family, but that means that they have to stand there and watch me die; so it would be easier for them if I just died suddenly, or passed away in my sleep.
I am confident that all my family knows how much I love them already, so I am not worried about them knowing that.

What we have been doing is making an online shared family journal and I have been answering their questions about places we lived and things we all remember from when they were growing up.
We have a lot of family pictures in a share-album on our iPads, but this year, what i am going to do is go through the actual old photos again, post it in the journal with as much info as I can remember along with the photo.
Some are really old photos taken by my mom and dad, and my mom wrote on them, so I will also add those to the journal along with whatever info my mom put on the back.
This will help us with getting the timelines for everything better, as well as preserving the photos and information.

The photo sharing is a great idea.
I'm sure my family knows I love them, In general men don't express it as often as women.
What I've done in the past is take any photos of outings, Special occasions, Vacations also old photos before they were born and make DVD disc slides shows, with background music. I'd give all a copy.

We had a chipmunk for about a month that attached itself to Jake. He tried taking it to the woods let it go but it kept jumping back into Jakes pocket, He finally stayed in the tree long enough for Jake to sneak away.
It sure was cute, only one of those we ever had.

I had 2 Flying Squirrels (sugar gliders), I had them trained that when I let them out of the cage they would jump on my arm and make their way to my shirt pocket where I kept nuts for them. Maybe someday I'll find the photos I took of them. They were cute.

Apparently in New York they take pet squirrels away and kill them. Be careful who you tell the story to @Tony Page

After thinking about the Flying Squirrels, I had those in my last house, which we move out of in 1973. I probably had them in the 60's.
My grandson yesterday asked "can we get a Fox". So I decided to do some research. In NY city no wild or exotic pets are not allowed. In the suburbs where we live 10 different wild animals are allowed. One is a Fennac Fox. Then I research careing for a Fox. Basically they're wild animals which are difficult to train. To get them to stay off furniture, or to stop knocking stuff off cabinets or shelves is impossible. I'm not saying it can't be done, for the average person who's not dedicated or knows how to training them it's very difficult. If I was younger I might have attempted keeping one as a pet. Maybe we'll get another dog.
