I understand the fascination of making pets out of wild animals, but I hate to see them imprisoned in cages and kept in homes. There is enough abandon domestic cats and dogs that need homes and the human interaction to fill the need for pets.

No doubt your other dogs will miss her @Tony Page. I have observed dogs that grieve when a long time canine buddy dies. We always had a funeral service where the deceased was wrapped in an old cotton sheet and was lowered in a deep grave. The other dogs were always present. We haven't had a dog since the last funeral where the 17 years old died and the 18 year old started whimpering (crying) as dirt was shoveled in the grave. Of course that made us all cry. She wouldn't leave the grave site, so we put her food and water there for the night. The next morning she lay dead on the grave.

We dug a another grave along side and buried her. The grandkids, pre school age, were helping me bake bread when we heard Grandpa running his air driven stone breaker. He had found a big rock with a flat side and was chiseling their names on it, with dates of birth and death. It is still there.

Twenty two years later, he still insist that we should get dog or at least a cat. I say no because I just can't deal with it anymore.

Tony, I'd like to see the pictures when you find them. Did you notice Jakes avatar is him feeding a baby squirrel we had her for several months, she was a cute little thing, she'd went with us to the beach, stores and would run around until somebody came up, then she'd hide in my hair on back of my neck or Jakes pocket.

I think they do, Foxy and Leo won't go near Molly house or bed after she passed. The new dogs will though.

We went to the store and when we came back Ester had passed, Fred was beside her biting flies off her. Jake tried to bury her and Fred charged him for the first time ever. Didn't bite him of course just let him know he didn't want her gone.He grieved for a long time.
Last year we lost a kittwn and a very special 16 yr old, the kitten Ginger was only a few weeks old and was too sick when we got her. Another little kitten was a survivor. We got her a wonderful home.

I did see the picture of Jake.
Looks like he's feeding a chipmunk, That's amazing.
For me it was always a good feeling when you can have a connection with a wild animal.
I've had a number of them over my life, And from my earliest days my idea where to keep them in a natural setting. I can remember going To pet shops as a kid, and seeing, Lizard and snakes just in tanks and thinking Why isn't there any branches or dirt? Even the zoos back then did not make a natural setting.
Any lizards I had were in a terrarium set up to their natural habitat. For instance my horned toad, had a desert setting, the chameleon had tropical.
The baby caiman I had We're in a large aquarium with water, heat, a basking area.
I always try to make my pets comfortable as possible.

Sometimes the only thing that matters is the money in these pet shops. I understand your take on this Tony. No sense in being cruel to anything, Even smashing spiders and bugs, kill the thing don't cripple it and walk away while it writhers in pain.

I have a 4:30 appointment this afternoon with my dentist. For the last three days i've had a pain in my gum line on the right side up to my sinuses. There's a Few places sensitive to touch. The pain last night Kept me up most of the night. I've taken a lot of Advil, It doesn't seem to be working as well now. I don't want to have a problem before my biopsy next week.
I just took some more advil I will tried to get some sleep for a little while anyway.

Hope you don't have an abscess or other infection, Tony. I'm glad you're going to have it seen about.

They probably won't want you taking NSAIDs prior to your biopsy @Tony Page. Maybe Tylenol/acetaminophen?
