Just heard this on the news, happened in Orlando Disney Park The Father witnessed this awful scene, how terrible ........ Its a tragedy the boy was able to get to the lagoon and paddle
What a terrible tragedy! He shouldn't have been in the water but it's too late now. I'm sure the parents are dealing with guilt and unbearable pain, a fun trip turned into a nightmare. https://www.yahoo.com/news/disney-closes-beaches-rescue-teams-163010067.html
That would all depend upon whether the alligator was black, Muslim or gay. More seriously, they are making a lot of the fact that there were "No Swimming" signs posted everywhere but some people might not appreciate the fact that people who have never lived in areas where alligators are prevalent would never consider that particular danger, and may well assume that wading at the edge of the water might be okay because no one was swimming.
I can't imaging what the parents are going through. And they still have to get themselves and the boys body back home to Nebraska.
This is really sad. Can't even imagine what the family is going through. Can't help it though, one of my first thoughts was 'law suit'
I saw the news too. The last time I heard anything about this incident was that the officials are looking for the boy yet. After reading posts, OMG! It's such a tragic incident.
Now the blame game is on. I wouldn't be surprised to hear some liberal 'genius' claim it's all the fault of straight, Christian NRA members and Trump.
I'm sure the parents will blame themselves in their minds forever, I didn't see details so I don't know exactly how it happened but you should never take your eyes off of a 2 year old in water wether there are alligators or not. Plus be close enough to get the child immediately if he does fall face down into the water and can't get up. There are so many accidental drownings of children. I'm not saying the parents weren't watching because I don't know. Besides the parents, Disney may be to blame. If they had to kill 5 crocodiles before they found the boy, that's too much of a danger to the people in that resort, even if they don't go in the water...they can come on land. Even though most americans know Florida has alligators, most probably assume a resort property is safe. So I'm guessing Disney will settle and change the signs and maybe even close off any water that may have crocodiles. In any case it's a sad ending to one family's vacation. It was also avoidable. I hope the family can find some peace but it will be a long process.
