Exactly. The term conspiracy theory is simply used to try and denigrate what might otherwise be termed a rational explanation. There are lots of examples in US history of the US government using deception to explain their actions and what might have been an alternative rational explanation later comes to light as true. You can easily do a Google search to find list of former "conspiracy theories" that turned out to be facts.

There are many people with some great minds that will never be heard because they are afraid to be shushed up or ostracized by someone or a group who cannot stand someone with a measure of curiosity in search of truth. Whole countries have been quieted by such persons generally referred to as dictators.
The greatest conspiracy this world will ever experience will be achieved when those people with a higher form of intelligence and curiosity are muted right here in a land where freedom of thought and speech are the pillars of freedom. Is that a theory or fact? Dunno........ask the citizens in Cuba, China, N. Korea, ect. I am sure that literally anyone in those countries would tell you what has dulled their drive and quieted their tongues.........if they wanted to risk their lives. Or, is that just a conspiracy theory?

Oh well, I wouldn't worry about it.........nothing really bad ever happens in the U.S.A. because we all are just so wonderful, cuddly, fuzzy and kind to each other at all times. No one would ever seek power, kill people in the streets, or jam the voting boxes with dead peoples names. Not here. Not in the U.S. Not in my life. ...........or is it happening already? Naw..Just a theory.

Funny! I think you would make a great conspiracist because I am totally confused by your commentary! ;) I think that's part of what conspiracy is all about. It's trying to make people unsure about what they believe.

Wait isn't that the purpose of television? I do agree that things these days are all called conspiracy, but then reality TV is called reality, not sure who's exactly, certainly never was mine. My father told me years ago that a confused mind will do nothing, and sometimes I find myself wondering about the level of confusion that goes on these days. Maybe it is just the side effect of to much information, but it seems like there is not that many people left that have a clue anymore.

It is ironic when you think about it, because it has been in recent years some of the best inventions have sprang forth so even the thought that there is to much confusion is not right either, wait maybe it really is some sort of conspiracy after all......hmmmm.....

Some people are exasperated with all of the conspiracy theories that are out there, while others are disgusted with those who won't open their eyes and see what's going on around them.

I see conspiracy theorists as having their own agenda which they like to push and in most cases it's the same agenda.

I've read both sides of conspiracies and the problem is that the conspiracy theorists also have a closed mind, refusing to look at anything that debunks what they say.

I guess each side believes what they want to just like in everything else, and nothing will change anybody's mind.

It is my opinion that government conspiracies are playing out on a daily basis. They have an agenda and will continue to work on that agenda until they have achieved their goals or for some reason it comes into the light. I,m one of those that is disgusted.

It's also disgusting that some will fake photos just to prove a conspiracy, especially Sandy Hook. That one is the cruelest one in my opinion. People had children die and they had to listen and hear and be hounded by some of these conspiracy theorists.

My brother in law is an ER Dr. that lives less than 2 hours from where it happened, it was definitely not a hoax or fake.

I really don't think most people believe these theories so if it makes them happy and there is no harm to others then I guess they can say what they want, we have the option of not listening.

It's not that these events don't happen it's whose actually making them happen. Which is a far worse than just making them up. Ask why are these things happening so often in recent years. Ask yourself why we blame the guns not the people using them. Ask your self why a person on the watch list got a legal gun. And when I say yourself I am not being personal. Ask yourself why they would want our guns.

I tend to agree. Some think the moon landing was a hoax, Hitler made it out of Germany, Butch Cassidy got back to the US and died of old age. It just never ends.
I don't believe everything I see or hear. That's why I don't believe conspiracies either.

But it is saying that some of these things didn't happen, some actually saying that the children who died at Sandy Hook are alive. Even the conspiracy theorists can't agree on one story that's made up...to me that shows it's just wishful thinking on their part.

Ask yourself where these conspiracies usually originate? The pro gun people, well most of them anyway...there are some pro gun people that don't believe these things and I'm one of them.

Most of these theories are based on the fact that these people want you to believe the government is doing this so they can take your guns away.

There are shootings and terrorist attacks in countries that already have gun control so I'm pretty sure their govt isn't
    Isn't creating these events.

These things happen, we have terrorists and we have crazy people and they will do these things.

It is my belief that they did happen but for a purpose. And that they were done for the purpose of making the gun the criminal for the purpose of disarming the people of this country. In the Florida shooting they also get the side benefit of further segregation. Divide and conquer

Then why do they happen in countries that already ban guns?

So, in your view @Chris Ladewig , the government is killing innocent children just to pass a ban on guns??

I think there are just too many mentally I'll or angry people in the world.

that's exactly what I think as for it happening else where it would look really bad if it was just here and we do have other factions in play. The defenseless are easy prey and the most likely to sway public opinion.

I believe ISIS is real. And I think Sandy Hook was real. May be the only one that was.
